Best bottle shop in the Tampa/St. Pete/Clearwater area. Great selection of singles and tons of bombers. Total wine probably has more singles, but Luekens has better and harder to find singles, and definitely a much larger selection of bombers. Plus, the price is significantly lower that Total Wine. Definitely the place to go, albeit fairly out of the way for most people.
Side note: the Luekens in Dunedin is far superior to the one in Clearwater on Rt 19. That one has a much smaller selection. If your doing to Luekens, go to the original in Dunedin.

Perfect shippers for you online shoppers. Received 3 6-pks of hard to find German beer in Atlanta, each beer seperated and protected in heavy cardboard dividers. Also arrived in 4 days via FedEx. I will definately be ordering from them again and trying some unusal beers that i've not been able to find locally.

I am rating this store for their mail order abilities. I have received packages on 3 occasions and have found the selection to be fast changing, comprehensive. When I have called I have discovered even newer arrivals not yet making the online inventory The packing is good and there are no substitutions. Requests through notes, even last minute changes by myself have always been accommodated. Only complaint is a slight one in that the postage is more than it need be. Good service overall.

Stopped in here on my lastnight in Clearwater. I called looking for Marshall Z by CCB. The guy over the phone was very helpful, so I decide to head over. They have a lot of craft beer! Plenty of selections to chose from. Bottles maybe a little dust but that didnt scare me. I ended up finding over 5 cases of Marshall Z. I couldnt find this stuff any where in FL. and here it all was! I had a worker walk past me twice with out asking me if I need help. That was my only negative about this place. Overall a well worth stop if your in the area.

I frequent Dunedin fairly often but never heard of this place until the HOB Beer Fest where these guys had a tent. I talked to the guy in the tent (the owner perhaps?) and mentioned a few beers that caught my attention so after the event my friend and I went there.
The place looks better than the standard liquor store, the beer is found at the back. The selection was pretty good, not Total Wine good but good enough. What made this place stand out for me were some hidden gems such as CCB's Marshal Zuhkovs (which is a seasonal release and not longer brewed this year so I picked two bottles up) and Souther Tier Creme de Brulee (which is a bit hard to find down here).
I'll will definitely be sure to stop by this place more often and see what they have in store.

Well this one shocked the hell out of me. When I first walked in I went to the left an into the back this was a bad mistake. All I found were some Sam Adams six packs and whole lot of ciders. After wandering aimlessly for a bit I thought to myself that was it ? I went all the way to the right of the store and found some fridges in the back and jackpot. Many different beers some I've never heard of or seen before. Finally someone who carries St. Somewhere. Many different Cigar city beers that most other stores did not have like their papaya IPA. So I grabbed that and Lectio Divine and Pays du soliel. Not too much help around the store just cashiers up front asking if I found everything ok. Which is still a step up from some stores in PA. Anyway very nice to find a place with such a good selection so close to home.

On my recent trip to Tampa I visited two places for beer, Total Wine and Leuken's. Leuken's offered the better selection.
Tucked away in the back right corner is the beer. At first I only saw a single 4' wire shelf with what seemed like close-out beers on it. They were marked down, and seemed to be winter seasonals (in August). All of the beers would have held up though, and I thought about picking up a few. Then I realized there were more around to the right. I was looking for local beers and was a little bit disappointed to find that they were mainly Belgian, German, and English imports. Some good stuff though, and I thought about buying a few, but with shipping I decided that it wasn't worth it.
And then I realized that the coolers along the back wall held more beer, and that halfway down the six-packs turned to single bottles! Oh boy! Again, however, I found imports. There were quite a few that I've never had before, and I thought I'd have to get at least something to ship back home. But wait, there they were, beers from Dunedin, Cigar City(!), and even some from Florida Brewing. There must have been 16' of single bottles in all, and probably just as much for six-packs. Still, there was nothing really special. I'd seen all of the seasonal Cigar City beers at Total Wines. Or had I...?
To the left there were more shelves of beer, and, lo and behold, the specialties I'd been looking for!!! They even have a "vintage" beer section (although most of that was what I'd consider just 'old' beer - everything else I checked was in code). But I found many more interesting items here that Total Wines didn't have. And the elusive Cigar City 110K + OT that I so desperately wanted to try.
As for other beers, there was a pretty good representation of outside states (I grabbed some Terrapin), and there were even beers from the north that I found a little bit odd (Erie Brewing, for example, is barely found in Philadelphia, PA - ?). The imports were well represented as well, and I found the prices to be quite good. There was no gouging going on!
I also looked at the wine and liquor, and made the same observations. Nice selection of rums and tequilas, to be sure, but then again, I guess that's what they really sell in that neck of the woods.
I didn't need service, and I didn't encounter anyone, but I was greeted with a smile, and service was quick at check-out. My impression was that this was a very friendly, almost neighborhood kind of place where they'd get to know you and remember what you liked and wanted.
So, although it didn't knock my socks off as far as beer stores go, it certainly beat Total Wine for selection. The trade off is that it's a bit dingy. Hmmmm? I'll take better selection :)

Wow. I was very surprised. I had heard mixed reviews about this place, and when I walked in I saw 3/4 of the elderly population of Dunedin buying vodka in bulk (weird), but in the back is the beer.
Damn! They have a few seasonal finds, lots of Terrapin, Bell's, Brooklyn, Belgians, Stone, Christmas Beers, Sour Beers, Jolly Pumpkin, etc. I was thoroughly impressed. They even had a vintage beer section (mostly picked through), but they had a lot of beers unavailable outside of bars in the Tampa area. The closest thing to Knightly Spirits in Tampa, with a beer section about as big- but more focus on American Micros. Prices are, for the most part, very reasonable. I will be back.
