500 mL bottle poured into a tall weizen glass.

This beer has a nice golden-blonde color with good head.

The aroma was surprisingly nice, clean malty lager smell.

Taste was nice and clean and refreshing. Light, but good. Some hops in the finish, but not too strongly, as is the style.

Mouthfeel was light and clean, but too much carbonation and fizz for me.

Overall pretty good beer that would be nice on a hot day.

Poured into a glass mug. Pours golden with lots of tiny bubbles and a white head that dissipates rather quickly. The beer smells of roasted malts with some grassy aroma from the hops. It's bready on the nose with just some mild sweetness. The taste of this beer is everything you look for in a pale German lager. There's the grassiness and mild citrus from the noble hops, but this is mild. There's the bready quality from the Munich malt. The body is light with lively carbonation. The finish is crisp and smooth. The drinkability is very high. This is an excellent beer.

A: Poured from a bottle to a pilsner glass. Had a bright yellow color and a clear consistency. There was a big, foamy, fairly long-lasting head. Good lacing.

S: A somewhat muted aroma of malt, light hops, and a little citrus.

T: Tasted of light hops, citrus (some lemon), a bready malt quality, and a slight graininess. This beer had a flavor typical of the style, but was too thin and watery to make an impression.

M: A good amount of carbonation with a smooth and lively finish. Light-bodied.

O: Not the most awful beer ever, but certainly a forgettable one.

A - Pours with half a finger of white foam on top of a perfectly clear, deep golden body. The head settles quickly and leaves light lace.

S - Some grainy malt and light, herbal hops.

T - Sweet malt up front with some bready character and a little bit of honey. The malt gets kind of grainy in the middle with a hint of corn. Finishes with light herbal hops and just a hint of balancing bitterness.

M - Medium body, moderate carbonation, and a slightly sweet finish.

D - Sweet and malty, but lacking a little in depth. The hop character is minimal and this, with the sweet finish reduces drinkability. Not the best German lager, but decent enough.

It poured a slight amber color beer with an average size head which dissipated after a little while.
I smelled grain and malt. I tasted some fruitiness, wheat, malt, and a bit of hop in the finish. It light to medium body. its my first dortmunder so I have nothing to compare it to.

Poured from a 500 ml bottle into a pilsner glass. Pours a straw-gold with a 1/2" white head and plenty of active carbonation.

Has a grassy aroma, with barley and biscuit notes, with a slight burnt toffee undertone as well.

Smooth, malty and slightly sweet, with a rounded mildly yeast middle and a mildly bitter finish. There's a slightly bready taste, that melts to a grassy finish and a lingering lemony bitter.

Medium bodied, though you'd think it was a lighter bodied beer to look at it.

Decent, though for $5 a bottle, I've had better Dortmunder beers, starting with Cleveland's own Great Lake's Dortmunder.

Pale, slightly hazy copper with a finger of head that leaves some webbed lacing behind.

Bready, malty aroma, cereal sweetness, almost creamy. Clean lager yeast profile, but very malt-heavy.

Fairly malty and semi-sweet on the palate. Bready, grainy malt flavors up front with slight herbal hoppiness in the background. Medium bodied, more full and grainy than expected. Mild finish, creamy and sweet.

An alright beer overall, but not really what I look for in the style; too heavy and sweet.

A: Pours a very light, golden color with a slight amber tint to it when held up to the light. The head is fairly small and dissipates to a thin layer of cream. Some lacing around the edge of the glass as you drink. Carbonation looks low.

S: Smells of sweet malts, vanilla and cream. Also some grains, corn, hops, white cheese and a bit of rubber (oxidation?).

T: Lots of sweet malts and grains with some hop bitterness detectable near the finish. There is also a candy, vanilla flavor in there. Great sweet malts linger on the tongue long after you drink. Not a complex beer, but solid.

M: This is a light beer but the body is somewhere between light and medium as it definitely has some substance to it. Carbonation levels are good and it feels a little creamy on the tongue.

D: Overall this is a very simple, pleasant beer that won't "wow" you but won't disappoint either. I feel that this is one of those beers that feels very solid, but doesn't offer much in terms of sophistication. Nothing wrong with that, it does it's job.

A: The beer is clear yellow in color and poured with a two finger high white head that quickly fades away into lacy patterns of bubbles covering the surface. A light amount of carbonation is visible from the rising bubbles.
S: There are aromas of grainy malts and grassy hops in the nose.
T: The taste is primarily dominated by flavors of grainy malts and has a hint of sweetness; there is also a mild amount of bitterness from the hops in the finish
M: It feels light- to medium-bodied and smooth on the palate with a moderate to high amount of carbonation.
D: The beer isn't that difficult to drink because there is a good balance between the malty sweetness and hop bitterness.

Pours a rich golden hue with great retention and solid lacing. Slight hazing only flaw.

Aroma is rich, malt forward with plenty of melanoidins. Hops are faint and there's a bit of a cardboard aroma in there, oxidation! :(

On the tongue this has a ton more balance, big mid-palate sweetness softly rounded, finishes with a quick, clean bitterness with plenty of earthy, citrus hops to clean it up. Leaves a slightly sweet aftertaste. Hints of an oxidative wet cardboard note what would seem to be some maltreatment somewhere between Germany and here, which is a shame.

Mouthfeel is just a bit full, really nice malt body.

Superbly drinkable despite the minor flaw. Would love to try this fresh.

A- Pours a dirty blonde, almost opaque with about a finger's worth of head up top. The nice, fluffy white head quickly dissipates to a film with little visible carbonation.

S- I swear, this smells almost exactly like the Maker's Mark distillery I was visiting a couple of weeks ago. There is definitely a corn forward nose (hence the bourbon!), with some much subtler pear and ripe pineapple notes to round it all out.

T- Not too much going on taste wise. Smooth sweet maltiness with a bit of a hay taste. Some very subtle citrus notes that easily get lost in the sea of grain and corn. This is certainly not an "in your face" brew, there is really not too much going on here. Personally, I prefer bolder offerings.

M- Good carbonation, does not sting the mouth as many lesser beers tend to have. On the pour, I was afraid of a bum bottle as I didn't see much carbo, but I was pleasantly surprised.

D- A very easy drinker, if not unremarkable. A good novice beer I suppose, but it's I'd look elsewhere to find a better traditional Hell (Domestic Augustiner Hell)

S: Not much exciting. Little herbal hoppiness, little light maltiness. Little corn/carboardy off-smell.

A: Yellow, fizzy fluffy white head

T: normal pale malt and light grassy hopping bitterness at the end. No real etoh presence. Do sense a bit of metallic taste that lingers wrecking the clean taste a bit.

M/D: Medium/thin, little watery. Pretty easy to drink, but pretty much any lager should be.

Overall: Not super experienced w/helles lagers, but not the tastiest I've had, or very memorable.

Aroma: Smells a bit like corn. Pleasant light hop and malt odor. No floral hop aroma at all.

Appearance: Yellow beer, off-white creamy head. Leaves a nice fine lace.

Flavor: First impression, medium bitterness and corn. Well attenuated (not sweet at all). Clean lager aftertaste.

Mouthfeel: heavier than American lagers, lighter than Oktoberfests or Bocks.

Impression: Decent German Helles, but a bit corny for my likes.

Drinkability: Better than American beer-pong swill.

Light gold color with a wet, filmy white head. Leaves some spotted lacing. Boring grains and pale malt on the nose, with a slight bready sweetness. Flavor is similar with grains and biscuity malt. There's a balancing earthy hoppiness that's a little grassy and a little metallic. Very low bitterness. Thin and a little watery, but this is a clear step up over your average crappy pale lager. Easy to drink, just very typical.

Pours a clear apple juice color with minimal white head. Lots of action and no sediment.

Has a beerish smell with a hint of bread dough and some esters.

Has almost a pilsner taste, bread dough almost biscuit in flavor with a butter taste background and mild esters.

Light bodied, slight resin feel, and crisp comfortable carbonation.

A session beer.

This is a very flavourful helles with a strongly bready character.

Deep gold and faintly hazy, it has a medium, slightly off-white head that slowly dissipates to a thin, permanent top and leaves a little lacing.

The aroma is very nice with whole wheat bread, yeasty sourdough, honey, lemon, hints of pine and hefeweizen elements.

The taste has a lot of toasty bread, crust, and mild but firm grass, pine, herbs, honey, yeastiness, and apple. It's smooth and lightly on the oily side, with an engaging zestiness, making it light but tasty, subtly complex, and very satisfying. It has a light bitterness to balance the sweetness and give a light bite in finish. The flavours last well, never degrading and it is a smooth, full-bodied, solid German lager.

I fricking love the way this beer looks. Huge foamy white head, brilliant dark golden color with a cascade of carbonation bubbling up the side.

Smells like a beer. Some hops, not much else.

Taste the malt. Some spicy herb flavors and hops, a little bready.

Semi sweet, but dry with a metallic finish.

The first of its style for me. Pours a clear yellow with thick white head. Ok retention and good lacing. Smell is somewhat lemon-y but a metallic twist to it as well. Strong malt presence in the nose. Taste is good. Malty with a lemon zest and a strong "grassy" taste to it. Mouthfeel is light and crisp. Overall a good beer. It wasnt amazing but a strong lemon-like presence made it easily drinkable. Best served nice and cold.
