Thanks to PerzentRizen for the bottle. Poured into a stange.

Light golden pour. Very bubbly. Large white head forms quickly and retains very well. It's almost a bother to wait for the foam to recede, actually. Very sticky lacing.

Nice pils aroma. Grainy and lightly spicy. Lemony, as well.

Flavor is lightly fruity, like a weird cross between lemon and green apple. Spicy hops and grains, too. Weird, somewhat metallic finish.

Light bodied, creamy texture. Unfortunately, this isn't a great offering, and is mostly forgettable. Some off flavors and an all-around lack of interest resulted in this one finding the drain.

Into a pint glass. Clear straw color with a finger of head.
Smells like dry grain in a metal silo. Yeah, lots of dried grain.
A bit metallic taste with a dry bitterness wrapped around. A little puckering effect.
Fairly crisp texture, light body and moderate carbonation.
Not my favorite.

Diamond bear blonde 12 oz brown longneck. It had freshness dating which I like to see.

Poured into a standard pint, the beer is yellow with a slight chill haze. It has a decent white head.

The beer has an aroma of grass, grains and some light lemon.

The taste is also a bit grainy. There is some slight citrus bursts at mid-sip and then some light spice on the finish.

The carbonation is very active but not gassy (if that makes sense). It is an easy beer to pair with non-spicy food.

Probably my only beer, ever, from Arkansas...thanks Deuane.

A - The beer poured a clear, yet hazy golden blonde body and produced two fingers worth of white head...although the head disappeared quickly, there was some nice, chunky lacing left

S - Sweet and grainy...caramel and toffee with a touch of buttered bread...fresh grains...it smelled like the Brew-house we just visited

T - The grain and caramel are also very dominate on the palate...the caramel and toffee add to sweetness level, but never become overpowering...the grain and malt bill add some depth to the beer and are able to cut back on the sweetness...there is a faint fruity flavor lingering...and the hops are also faint at the finish

M - Medium bodied...sweet caramel...a little too much carbonation...should be crisper

O - I thought this was a good representation of the Blonde Ale style...the nose was very attractive...like a brew-house...the flavors came together well, but were maybe too sweet for some

Many thanks to my smokin’ hot wife for bringing some Diamond Bear beers back from her recent trip to Arkansas. Poured a nice golden color with a fluffy white head. Aromas of hay, grass and light honey. On the palate, this one is light bodied, with flavors of hay, grass and light honey.

Poured from a bottle into a Pilsener glass.

Look - clear straw color with about 2 fingers of off-white foam that dissipates slowly. Very good carbonation.

Smell - clean pilsener smell. Hoppy, but a cleaner smelling hoppiness..probably a nobel, but I'm not sure which.

Taste and texture - again a very clean, pure feeling due to the hops used. Maybe slight hint of orange peel. Texture is a little more on the lighter, watery side, but still fairly well-balanced.

Drinkability - very nice brew! I like this one because it's very crisp and smooth, but still a hint a interesting hops being used.

Poured from a 12 oz. bottle into a standard pilsner.

A: Medium golden hue. Pretty heavy carbonation pours into about a one and a half finger, foamy, white head. Settles fairly slowly leaving some sticky residue behind. Plenty of nice spider web lacing remains as you drink it down. Carbonation continues to rise throughout.

S: Malty, really nutty, and a little woody. Maybe a slight hint of orange citrus.

T: A little less malty and a lot more hoppy than the nose lets on. Nicely hopped, smooth flavor with some nutty and peaty undertones.

M: Clean, light body, smooth. A nice sharp hop tone hits you in the beginning and lingers throughout.

D: Nice easy drinking brew you can enjoy sipping, or power it down if that's your thing.

Really solid atmosphere. Clean, fresh appearance with a nice color and full head. Nose has a nice nutty tone to offset the malt and hops... a little different. Flavor is crisp, clean, and hoppy. Overall, this is a really good quaff.

This is a review of the newest recipe of Southern Blonde, which became available in bottles at the brewery on June 11, 2010. This label has undergone many changes over the years. It was originally a "Blonde Ale" and then a Czech Pilsner lager and in later descriptions a German Pils. I don't know what it is now...just "beer".

Pours to a thin white head with minimal lacing and brilliantly clear pale yellow-gold color. Aroma is spicy hops and pale malt. Flavor is a rush of spicy hop flavor and bitterness with a grainy, biscuity dry finish with hints of butter and malt. Carbonation is strong and mouthfeel is very light. This version seems to taste slightly lighter alcohol-wise (I could be wrong). This beer is ready for this year's hot summer.

V: Clear golden pour with one finger of off-white head which leaves a bit of lacing as it dissipates.

A: Freshly crushed grains and a touch of yeast. Smells inviting.

T: Bready at first, then a tart grassy sourness. Doesn't seem like it's from hops at first, but after a few drinks it starts to resemble hop bitterness. Some yeasty flavors are present.

M: Medium-light bodied. Low carbonation. Easy to drink.

D: All-around a good beer! I enjoyed everything about it except that the finishing bitterness was a bit stronger than what I was expecting. After a while it gets better though.

Poured from bottle into pint glass.

A: Golden amber with nice frothy head and lacing. Carbonation apparent. Good looking brew.

S: Not much on the nose to speak of.

T & M: Taste has definite tartness to it. Mouthfeel a little thin and finish has strange quality that I can't quite place.

D: Drinkable, although I won't be having again since Diamond Bear doesn't distribute in Dallas as far as I'm aware.

12 oz. bottle tried 11 May 2008.

Pours with a large white head. Well carbonated. Clear bright golden yellow color. Aroma of toasted white bread. Lightly malty, quickly replaced by a slight sourness. Somewhat vegetal. Finishes faintly bitter. Medium body. Minimal ethanol.

Unlikely to get this again.

Appearance: Pours a clear, yellow-gold body with no real head. Like many blondes I've met, it's sportin' a gorgeous body, but there's just not much going on up top.

Smell: Light pale malts, a bit of grain and a drizzle of clearance honey.

Taste: Light pale maltiness with a mild honey-like sweetness and light hint of grain. Minor spicy hop character and bitterness provides a little bite. Starts heading towards Watery Town near the end. Relatively dry, crisp finish.

Mouthfeel: Medium-thin body. Medium carbonation.

Drinkability: Not inherently bad, but it is just another ho-hum blonde.

From a 12 ounce bottle - Pours a clear light pale yellow. Below average carbonation, and almost no lacing. Smells of honey and mild malts. First sip is surprisingly balanced with just enough of a malt bodied. Not too sweet, not too bitter. On a whole not too bad.

Thanks to russpowell for this!

Freshness date of 03/09 notched on label.

Pours bright golden - nice clarity - large, foamy white head. Some lacing sticks.

The smell is of fresh grain and hay/grassy undertones.

The taste is of sweet grain and bitter grassy notes and lemon zest. Crisp finish.

It has a crisp, yet somewhat creamy, that leans towards medium-bodied. Texture a bit odd for style, but it is refreshingly smooth.

This is a true "session" beer. Malty for a pils, but there's enough balance to keep it going. Better than the "pseudo-pils" macros, for sure. A nice thirst-quencher!
