Pours a hazy, bright copper. A good start, but the head is just a slight 1/2 finger with little lacing.

Smell is biscuit with some surprisingly sweet citrusy notes. The taste is biscuity malts, floral & slightly citrus with a weird medicinal/herbal aftertaste. Mouthfeel is crisp, medium-bodied, and somewhat sticky.

Overall, this is an OK English Pale Ale. The biscuity malts were as expected, but I did not care much for the medicinal flavors that made for an odd aftertaste.

To me this is just one of the most balanced pale ales out there. On tap this ale is a perfect balance of light hoppyness and malt flavor, has a nice fragrant aroma, and a good full body texture in the mouth. This beer is in the same range as Sierra Nevada Pale ale but without out the sweetness. This beer is only "good" in bottled form, but is excellent on tap.

Served on tap to a chilled shaker at NYPD Pizza on 3/15/13. Pour a very nice color of muddy red-orange like Alabama clay after a day or so of springtime rain. Didn't really have much head or even very much lacing overall. It was almost opaque with just a sunset of orange light on the edges of the glass. The nose was fairly average for the style with mostly malt that smelled of store bought french bread and a slight puff of mostly floral hops. The flavor was pretty good; very refreshing and quaffable. Not quite sessionable at 6.2% ABV, but the balance was there with good sweet malts and a citrus and floral tang of hops to balance it out. Bittering was there, but not abrasive. Mouthfeel was very light, fair on the carbonation side. Overall a good beer; something I would use to fill a cool at the lake or something I would sip at a baseball game.

Had this on tap while at the brewer

Nice copper color , one inch off white head with small amount of lacing

Nice hoppy full body beer that finishes a little dry to me

I really enjoy this beer , buying it at the brewer I know its a lot fresher than I can get anywhere else , Ive bought this beer before and not enjoyed it as much , so this is really one that needs to be as fresh as you can get it. I will buy this beer again for sure

Copper body with an almost tan layer of head.
Big pine tree and grapefruit smell.
Almost sweet at first, malty, dry pine bitterness at the end.
Crisp texture, moderate to higher carbonation, medium body.
Solid pale ale. Perfect summer drinkin' beer.

Tasted On: 05-29-2012
Freshness: Bottled 05-2012
Packaging: 12 oz. brown bottle, pry-cap
Glassware: Schooner
Purchased: Received in a trade

A: Hazy amber color, topped by an off-white head of 2 fingers high. Both lacing and head retention are good.

S: Clean aromas of citrus and floral hops.

T: First impression is hop bitterness, followed by a lesser amount of caramel malt sweetness. Nicely balanced.

M: Medium amount of body and highly carbonated. The aftertaste is mostly bitter with a small amount of maltiness.

O: My first beer from Arkansas -- I thought it was a good pale ale and would recommend it.

Thanks to TheBishopco for this one!

I've had this beer on tap at the brewery, bottle, and growler. This is one of the first ales I ever tried so I may be prejudiced, but it will always have a place in my fridge. After trying many more pale ales since, this one can hold it's own with any other IMHO. Pours an amber color, with about decent head, smells of slightly roasted malt, mixed with light hops, balanced and easy to drink. Bear in mind I love IPA's, but I can sit in a boat and drink this all day long. Love it!
