A: 1/2inch of off white head. dark amber color but you are still able to see through the glass.
S: Love the aroma hops used thin this beer; very floral and has some spice aroma.
T: it is very fruity and creamy malty with a hint of caramel and spices. Still has some of the bozziness from a 10% beer. It has has a mellowing bitterness.
M: feels wet and mildly bitter. beer has a medium body.
O: Belgian take on an American barleywine

Served from tap into a sampler shaker. Poured red-orange with a half finger slightly off-white head that subsided to a minimal amount quickly. Maintained nice lacing throughout the glass. The aroma was comprised of sweet malt, caramel, wood, earth, earth hop, and caramel hop. The flavor was of sweet malt, caramel, dark fruit, fruit, alcohol, and wood. It had a medium feel on the palate with medium carbonation. Overall this was a decent brew. There was quite a bit going on in this one which is always welcomed, however, there were some aspects that just felt a little out of place once I picked up on them. Take the wood for instance. While it was there I do not feel that it was really needed as it just added another component to an already decent backbone on the brew. This might have helped to balance it a little more, but I guess I will never know. Worth your time trying at least once to judge for yourself.

A - dark orangish amber with a little white that has good retention
S - citrus, bread, alcohol, sweet, caramel
T - caramel, birthday cake, citrus, grapefruit, bread, sugar
M - medium bodied, smooth well carbonated
This was delicious. It blurs the lines between DIPA and Barleywine with it's intense hop character. There's just enough sugary sweetness to remind you of the style. The citrusy hop character was fantastic and the malt wasn't cloying. The balance here was superb. The alcohol for the most part was also well hidden. I very much enjoyed this beer.

Bought at the Liquor Shed for $6.99.
A nice foamy pour of a deep red brew, over 2 fingers' worth, it shrinks slowly leaving some good lacing behind.
Lots of pine in the nose with small hints of something malty going on.
The taste is more balanced than the smell. Yeah, there's a solid pine flavour going on but the malt is well represent with an ample sweetness, slight hint of dark pitted fruit, and a fairly noticeable taste of alcohol.
Fairly lightly carbonated with an on the big side of medium bodied, the mouthfeel is good. Drinkability is average at this stage. I'd like to revisit with some decent cellar time.
