Notes:
Howling Wolf Weisse Bier is an unfiltered Bavarian-style Hefeweizen. Brewed with a hearty amount of wheat, this Weissbier pours a light clouded golden color with a generous head. Gently hopped to balance the malt sweetness, Howling Wolf’s flavors and aromas are subtle with a hint of fruit and spice. At 5% alcohol by volume, this light-bodied ale is a refreshing session beer for any time of year.

A- Pale Hazy straw with a very thin head

S- Apples and bananas with background reminiscent of wet hay

T- Rather clean for a wheat, slightly sweet malt upfront with subdued fruitiness. Some funk and floral-ness from the noble hops and yeast.

M- Light and spritzy as you would expect from a wheat beer, refreshing and sessionable

O- Nice wheat beer, nothing particularly notable but a well-made wheat beer nonetheless. I tend to prefer more funky wheat beers, but found this one to be more subdued. Overall light and refreshing, would be a fine choice for a lawnmower beer.

The beer, poured properly into a hefeweizen glass, looks quite honey-like and cloudy under a big head of white foam. Typical hefe aromas include cloves, banana, wheat, earthiness, and spices. Lemon zest jumps on the palate first, and is followed by bubblegum, banana, bread, wheat, grassy hops, and a bit of spice. Lighter in body then expected, Howling Wolf is moderately carbonated.

Poured a finger and half of head on a cloudy medium straw colored body.
The aroma is banana and apricot. Nice.
The taste has some banana, mild sweetness and a chalky mild bitterness. It ran a little watery at the end.
The texture is fizzy and light with moderate carbonation.
This is a good hefe.

a pretty good unfiltered wheat brew. pours very very light pale lemon color with a good two inch white head that leaves some delicate lacing on the glass. the nose is piquant yeasty and wheat malty. its light in body but big in flavor. plenty of citrus notes and spice from the yeast. corriander maybe in here? my only critique with the flavor is that it tastes a bit soapy, dishsoapy. leaves that flavor a little in the aftertaste, but its minor. the feel is good, light body and light abv, its an easy drinking summer beer. carbonation is about average. it went well with grilled asian ribs, and is one of the ligtest, most citrusy weisse biers out there right now. not a miracle, but a useful and tasty beer form time to time.
