Bocken i Paradiset, ABV: 7.4%.
330 ml bottle, 18.70 SEK at Systembolaget.
From notes:
A: Somewhere between amber and copper, with an off-white, kind of beige, head.
S: I got fruity and floral hops on the nose, with hints of roasted malt and blue grapes.
T: Nice, distinct hoppy, mildly fruity flavours, with roasted malt, flower field, alcohol, and hints of pear and toffee.
M: The body is medium - the bitterness medium-large. An all-in-all strong and warming feel.
O: A balanced, warming and simple pleasure during the fresh summer nights in Sweden - a great company with friends, and musty, barbecued meats. Rare, and well-done.

A: This beer is copper with a medium large white compact head that slowly sets into very little lacings.
S: Sweet malt, with bitter hops. In my taste a bit too sweet. Faint frutyness.
T: Sweet semi-roasted malts; dried dark fruits and molasses. Bitter hops and citric notes.
M: The alcohol strikes trough a bit too obviously. Aftertaste is sweet and rather long. Body is medium and carbonation is on the stronger side.
O: Well, not a bad try. Little too high ABV and not as well balanced as German Bocks. The malt doesn't overpower the bitter hops as one could expect.

The colour is deep gold (10 EBC), the three finger head is warm white and airy. It sinks slowly leaving almost no lacing.
The smell dry with hoppy notes; grass, dried flowers, metal. Medium bitterness and some alcohol.
Smooth sweetness dominates the taste. Some lightly roasted malty flavours, hints of caramel and nuts. The mild to medium bitterness is somewhat metallic. The aftertaste is clean, dry and bitter with growing alcohol notes.
The carbonation is medium to strong; the medium sized bubbles fresh. The liquid is quite light.
A bit too much hops. I had hoped for more malty flavours.

A: Copper-coloured. Thin foam which sinks away quickly. Some lacing.
S: Caramel and crisp bread (knäckebröd). Hoppy citrus tones. Some brown sugar as well. Subtle hints of seaweed and salt water. Rather complex.
T: Surprisingly hoppy at first with citrus and pine. Thereafter some cocoa bitterness followed by sweet syrup, bread and some molasses. Quite dry aftertaste with hints of tomatoes and grapefruit juice. Alcohol is well hidden.
M: Not watery, nor thick liquid. Low to medium carbonation. Not that drinkable, but I guess it's not a bad thing.
O: I was surprised by the bitterness. I expected a more malty brew, but this is nearly IPA-like. I'm not sure if it's that characteristic for it's style, but I do like it. It's a nice beer, but it's hard to judge for it's style.

The beer is clear dark straw colored, a slightly off-white head has no lacing, but some curtains.
The smell is fruity, pears, ripe apples, lemon zest.
The taste starts with sweet bread, bread crust, followed by fruits, a whiff of peaches and pears, bitter nuances like lemon peel and seeds. Some alcohol taste.
Low carbonation, soft and oily, a rather big body, a light dry finish.
A bit too much ABV and little character to be a real winner.
