[Best served in an English Pint]

Poured a hazy amber with a thin (less than 1 finger) off white fizzy head that diminished totally and had some spotty clingy lacing.

The aroma was that of caramel malts and a musty yeast with a slight hint of dark fruit and citrus (orange I believe).

Taste was mildly malty with a notes of caramel and dark fruit throughout and slightly bitter sweet with a hint of citrus and a mild nutty flavor at the end. The flavor disappeared quickly after the swallow with just a hint of sweetness left behind.

Mouthfeel was very light in body and a little dry in texture with a prickly carbonation.

Overall a pretty basic beer with just a little bitter sweet flavor, but absolutely nothing special about it.

Poured a dark copper hue with a one finger foamy white head. There was good retention and lacing.

The smell featured caramel malt and a grassy hop.

The taste consisted of a sweet caramel, a grassy hop and some diacytl.

The mouthfeel was typical of the style.

Overall a decent but uneventful amber.

Light, clear, leather-brown body with a very thin layer of head.

Aroma is big on sweet caramel malt and green apple.

Taste seems a little overly caramel-sweet and slightly husky. Needs a little tweaking.

Mouthfeel is clean, crisp, just a little drying.

Not a bad beer, but for 7.99 a sixer, I won't be buying it again. Too many other great ambers out there.

I am so glad someone just went ahead and posted this beer. I tried contacting the bros. on two seperate occasions and have yet to receive a response.

It poured a nice amber color, almost sweet tea like. There was very little head, and that which was produced quickly recessed to a wispy sheen over the surface. It was very clear with no lacing at all. Subtle balloons of carbonation continuously rising to the surface.

The nose of this beer was very straight forward, roasted malts and barley with aromas of sweet caramel.

The taste was somewhat bland. It was simple with very little complexity. Seemed almost watered down, there was a nice malty backbone with very little aftertaste or anything else to speak of.

Seemed light bodied, very light actually. Crisp and refreshing, although IMHO the carbonation could have been tamed down to improve the enjoyment of this beer.

Being from NC and spending a lot of time on the Pamlico River, I guess my expectations were a little too high. I was actually a little disappointed. The sixer said it was locally brewed. Upon further investigation it was brewed in Dover, DE. I thought the beer to be pretty boring. I do have a strong feeling that BMC drinkers would probably enjoy this a little more than I did.

Nice soapy 1/2 inch head, retains well above a glassy ruby-meets-copper. Tons of bubbles, but that's the Sam Adams Boston Lager "nucleation site" glass for ya. Just a few curlicues of lace paint the glass...cool enough to mention anyway.

Hops seem to want to nip at the nose, but they don't quite get there. They're in there, but the mild breadiness of the malt is enough to shut them down. A candy-like sweetness pervades as well, but all of it is incredibly subdued, so I can only shrug the shoulders and move on.

Decent roasted notes and caramel dance first and foremost on the tongue. Mild grassy hops and a milk/toffee sweetness come through to add a little depth to the flavor. With a little warming I found some great notes of butterscotch helping prop up the flavor. Toasty and caramel sweet in the finish, with some soapiness coming in at this stage.

Subdued carbonation, which I wasn't expecting and am liking. A bit slick and buttery, although it's got a thinness that keeps it feeling pretty tame overall, and that's fine.

Not outstanding, but good enough for what it's trying to be, which I guess would be your standard, sturdy American amber with nothing all that wild about it. But it's good enough to recommend for session type gatherings--drinkability is high. Similar to a mellower, less sharp Budweiser American Ale, if that grabs ya. Just nothing to ponder and "wow" over.

Note: bottle reads Coastal Brewing Co., which, after some research, I found is basically the same as Fordham.
