The mystery growler from the fridge. At the time of writing I do not know what this is other then I presumes an IPA or very hoppy pale. Served cold and poured into a pint glass, this one was consumed on 07/20/2010.
The pour was a nice orange amber color with a smooth, even head of maybe two inches at its zenith that slowly and completely works its way down the glass leaving a good bit of lacing all over the place as it works out. Aroma is clean, loads of orange and pineapple in here. Not the pungent grapefruit, more of a sweet, well balanced twist on this one. Warming brings out a good bit of biscuit and bready notes that seem to flow well. Touches of light grain and a clean, semi dry finishes cap it off quite well. Some light notes of alcohol were picked up towards the finish so this may in fact be a double.
Overall a very solid and nicely done IPA. I would have no issue in having this one again and in fact the couple glasses I had were very, very well received.

A - Light copper/gold. 1/4in head with medium retention.
S - light and citrusy but pungent hops come through a caramel malt
T - Not too hoppy but the flavor from the hops is there. Not experienced enough to call the type of hops yet.
M- full bodied with a great feel. not too thick/ just enough thickness to hold itself together.
D- I could drink these all night but I love ipa's. I have drank 4 pints of this on several occasions. not heavy on the stomach.
I like this beer alot and I think it's important to mention that I go to this brewery weekly and I have notcied through the past several year they have had a problem with consistancy. In the past year, however, they seem to have gotten their consistancy under control. This may be why other may have had a bad experience. I have no more complaints about that topic for this brewery.

Received as my first installment in Growlin' at the Moon 2009-10.
A-Orange tinted copper with a medium off-white head that reduced to a thin cap and left spotty lace.
S-Nice, straight forward citrusy zing of light grapefruit, lemon and orange. Supported well by a healthy dose of sweet caramel malt. Certainly not a hop bomb but it does have a nice aroma.
T-Quite balanced citrus hop pop with sweet caramel base. Hops edge out the malts by the slimmest of margins.
M-Medium-light bodied smooth and mildly sharp. Decent lingering hop bitterness.
D-A first time for me experiencing a beer from this brewery. A pretty damn nice, straight forward, slightly hopped up, easy drinking IPA. Nothing that will blow your socks off here but to finish off a few pints would not be a chore.

Poured from a growler into my Three Floyds pint glass
Pours a medium copper color with a huge frothy three inch white head. Great head retention with good amounts of lacing clinging to the sides of my glass.
Citrus is the first thing that comes to my nose. Sweet grapefruit with oranges, lemons, honey, and caramel malts with biscuit. I cant wait to taste this beer.
Slight citrus upfront with a mild hop bitterness that follows. Caramel malt backbone helps balance out the bitterness on this one.
Mouthfeel is medium bodied with average carbonation.
Overall it is a pretty good IPA that goes down nice.

Pours a vibrant clear straw color. thin white head that doesn't stick around long.
Citrus and floral hops aroma with a little biscuity/breadlike malt and a touch of caramel.
Slightly bready/biscuity flavor. Almost spicy hops up front that quickly turn into a slightly grapefruit citrus flavor. Normally not a huge fan of grapefruit, but this one's good.
Light to medium body. Just below what I might like for carbonation. Dry with a slightly lingering bitter finish.
Good beer. A touch more carb would be nice, but it's sure an easy drinker.

Pours a clear amber color with a quarter inch bright white head. Good retention.
Aroma is weak. Barely any hops and a really sweet malt profile.
Taste is odd. Barely any hops, and an oddly sweet malt characteristic. Can't my finger on it really, but really quite bad and terribly inappropriate.
Mouthfeel is medium bodied and lightly carbonated.
Drinkability is fairly low. Definitely sessionable, but the flavor is horrible. It's not entirely their fault though. I understand that the IPA is normally much better, but due to the hop shortage it's pretty bad.
