My sister-in-law went to Mammoth last week and brought me back a few bottles from Mammoth Brewing Co.
A - Poured into a pint glass and noticed very little head. Just a thin layer and it didn't stick around. This is a bottle conditioned beer - perhaps mine didn't get a chance to fully carb or something. Coppery brown according to style.
S - No real hop aroma - mostly caramel and roasty notes.
T - The flavor is better than the appearance and aroma. Nice malty sweetness with fairly balanced hop bitterness. A little sweet up front and finishes dry on the back. Pleasant.
M - Medium bodied with medium carbonation. Somewhat smooth yet dry finish.
D - I could probably drink another one but if I was at the bar, I'd want to try another offering.

Got a pitcher of this one. Pours a deep amber color with a frothy head. Retention of the head was fantastic. Nothing too present on the nose. Taste was nice and malty with perhaps a subtle nuttiness to it. I couldn't taste hops, but surreptitiously they were there to balance it out. Mouthfeel was very smooth and creamy. It is definitely the kind of beer you'd want a pitcher of. Share it with a friend! A solid entry for Mammoth, whose beers often leave me looking for the Real McCoy, so to speak.

Thanks for Morgan for another Mammoth brew!
A: Pours a clear copper color with a one finger white head. Decent retention with sheets of lacing all around the glass.
S: Lots of caramelized malt, it dominates, but there is a little bit of a nutty aroma and some darker grainy malt.
T: Very similar to the aroma, plenty of caramel and nutty flavors mixed together. There is a faint hop presence as well.
M: Medium bodied, rather smooth with moderate retention.
O: An easy drinking beer, not outstanding, but gets the job done.

Pours a dark red, light brown color, thin tan head, decent retention, not much if any lace. Aroma was bready, red malt, peat in a very slight way.
Taste, uh oh, diacetyl warning. Slight wet cardboard, oxidized butter feeling. Not terrible, not enjoyable either.
Marked down bottles at the brewery tap/gift shop for $1.99 a bomber. Maybe that's why they were kind of blase. Wait, I've had this a few times, was always blase, but not minorly infected.

Brown glass bottle served into a generic pilsener glass in low altitude Orange, California. Reviewed live.
A: Pours a three finger head of slight cream, decent thickness, and fair retention. Colour is a clear copper.
Sm: Caramelized malt, decent cream, and slight amber hops. Mild strength aroma.
T: Caramelized malt over top a barley foundation. Some cream is present, but it's largely a simple build. I will say it's nicely balanced.
Mf: Smooth and wet, suiting the flavours of the body.
Dr: Very drinkable, low ABV, and decent quality. I'd try it on draught, but it's nothing special.

Pours a hazy amber color with a pretty good white head.
Aromas are earthy, tea like, and a little bit sugary.
Taste is sweet up front, with some bread, light spices, brewed tea, and light cream. Finish has faint crispness, and hints of earthy hops. Beer has thick mouthfeel, but is to much on the sweet side for me.
Mouthfeel is good, smooth and with nice, full body.
Overall a pretty good amber. Sessionable, but a little too sweet for my liking. Decent, but unspectacular brew.

I picked up a bomber at the brewery for $3.30, not a bad price at all. It poured a clear orange with a tall white head and lacing. I like that they make a nice sessionable amber, but it could use a little work. As the beer warms, the aroma is full of creamy diacetyl. The malt has a bit of nutty toffee and is followed by a mild spicy hop note. I think if this were cleaned up and there was a little more hop flavor, this would be a fine session beer.

12 oz can into a pint glass.
Pours a hazed deep copper, with several fingers of off-white head. This retains with thin ¼ finger layer of foam which stays rich and throws a foamy cascade of lace up on the sides of the glass which quickly slides down. I'm immediately getting diacetyl in the aroma, being quickly followed malty notes of caramel and bread. Dank and earthy hop activity pulls up the rear but the butter is just VERY strong here.
The taste is caramel and bread but it isn't really popping a whole lot. Butter is present as well but isn't nearly as distracting as it is in the nose and even works a little bit with the toasted feel of the malts. There are just enough earthy hops to keep things balanced before this finish with leftover buttery sweetness and some dirty feeling bitterness. The mouthfeel is medium bodied and while there is some crispness to this, it lightens up a tad too much on the edges and backend of the feel and lessens the overall presence that this has in the mouth.
My second can of Mammoth beer here and my second can of Mammoth beer with off-flavors. Not a good track record so far. This is actually came off much better than the High Country Pils that I had just drank and if it hadn't been infected with diacetyl, would have come off as a pretty decent Amber Ale. I'd probably be willing to give this guy a shot again down the road.
