Initially I liked this a lot, but I could not drink a pint of it. Good balance, although ended up feeling quite sweet. Mammoth Lakes, CA. June 2018

Deep copper hue to this brew, fizzy head that falls flat, leaving no lace. No bottle date, maybe this was past freshness or just doesn't age well. This is always a turn off to me.
Appearance aside, smells of bubblegum, banana, clove and caramel. Tastes much the same, with some added belgian yeast, bread dough, white grape, caramel, butterscotch. Medium bodied, smooth finish. Touch of dryness with a lingering sweetness.
From the pour onward I was underwhelmed by this brew. Maybe it was past freshness? Stored improperly? Unfortunately these things happen and unfortunately I won't be having this again. Much better takes on the style out there.

Everything you look for in a Triple in harmony. No flavor overwhelms the other. The Belgian yeast, Spices, Pear, and Banana Clove flavors are there but in equal parts and mellow. This one is most definately accurate for the summer, as stated below with such a drinkable and clean mouthfeel & finish. A nice refreshing, clean, and lighter take on the style without suffering any nose or flavor.
Mammoth has stepped up their game and pumping out clean, clean beers. Highly recommended. This, Allagash and Boulevard have been the best American takes on this style I've had.

Golden color with a little amber tone, modest suds in the tall glass. Not too sweet. Honey flavor with a yeasty finish. Malty and mellow with a fruity pear and vanilla cookie taste.
This is a textbook example of a Tripel with a clean overall flavor. Quite drinkable and pleasant aromatics as you sip. From the 22 oz bottle purchased at Bine & Vine in San Diego.

The name is accurate. Summer beers tend to be a little lighter. And this is. And it is still a tripel. A pretty down the middle of the road tripel flavor wise. But being a little lighter in a lots of ways, including ABV, makes for slightly easier drinking. It looks like they were intending to create a warmer weather tripel and they succeeded. I would happily repeat this experience. I purchased my bomber at Whole Paycheck and their inside beer geek is doing a good job rotating true smaller craft beers through their shelf space. This is either the 4th or 5th beer I've bought there that is so new it isn't even rated yet. I've also liked Mammoth Lakes Blondibock and Lair of the Bear in the past. So Kudos to this brewery and to Whole Paycheck for spreading the good word of good beer.

Pours a murky dark honey orange with a foamy tan head that settles to wisps of film on top of the beer. Small streaks of lace form around the glass on the drink down. Smell is of grain, earth, spice, and Belgian yeast aromas. Taste is much the same with grain, cracker, pepper, earth, spice, and Belgian yeast flavors on the finish. There is a mild amount of spice and yeast bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a good level of carbonation with a crisp mouthfeel. Overall, this is a good beer that is a solid American take on the style to me.
