Poured from a 12 ounce bottle into a tulip glass.

Appearance: Pours bronze, with a peachiness to it as well. Light tan head leaves pretty heavy lacing as it recedes. Very nice, but doesn't look anything like a black beer to me.

Smell: Apricot tones accent the toasted rye-like malt character which is laced with a nice bitter hop aroma. VERY well balanced all around.

Taste/Mouthfeel: The hops bite gently before allowing the malt to layer the tongue in sweet, bready goodness. Fuzzy fruits mix with all other flavors to create a beautiful spiced beer. Even carbonation unfolds on the tongue, and the beer goes down mostly dry. Super tasty!

Overall: Great! Not entirely sure it should be a Schwarzbier (I'd call it a spiced beer) but hey, it's good.

Poured 12oz into dogfish chalice
A- pours root beer brown with a half finger off white head
S- tons of amaretto, bready, some malt, some carrot
T/M- pretty think, again some amaretto, sweet candy, dried dark fruits, slightly bitter.
O- pretty easy drinking, unique flavor, worth a try. Better than drinking natty
