I've spent so much of my time in contempt for all lagers... can't I, for maybe just a little while, learn to *love* them?
Appearance: Pours out a deep, though somewhat hazy golden-amber color with a bone white head.
Smell: Slightly musty aroma, with some sweet and floral notes mixed in.
Taste: Take heart, it's good. The flavor is initially sweet toasted grains with a squirt of wildflower honey. The maltiness gives way to some light, floral hops with a squeeze of fresh lemon juice. A touch metallic. Finish is a well-balanced blend of sweetness and citrus snap.
Mouthfeel: Medium-thin body. The carbonation is crisp and lively.
Drinkability: Stellar drinkability. This is a "BEST OF..." Dortmunder Lager, I'm telling you.

I don't typically enjoy this style. Or lagers in general. I guess you could call me an ale man.
But this one is fairly nice. The grass tones are a bit high and the carbonation could ease up on my tongue and mouth. But the flavor profile is consistent and hearty. I suppose that hearty aspect may be the pitfall for some, but I can appreciate it.

Poured into a nonic.
This is a bright copper colored brew with a white one finger thick head that fades quickly, but leaves a nice clumpy thin layer covering the brew. Descent lacing around the sides.
Smells of biscuit-like malts, faint herbal, earthy hops.
Tastes of faint herbal hops, biscuit and mild malt. Overall a very mild, but satisfying brew. A good brew to kick back with on a hot summer day.
Miedium light, crisp, smooth and refreshing.
A nice sample of the style - nothing overpowering at all, but a joy to drink. Very crisp, clean and refreshing. I'd destroy 3 or 4 of these easily after mowing the lawn.
