Ordered this One at a Greek restaurant listing it as "Greek beer," but in reality it's brewed inthe states and tastes like every other American Adjunct lager. Clear gold color. Moderate white colored head. Minimal lacing. Aroma is pleasantly sweet, corny, with a hint of grassy hops. Taste is simplistic with lots of sweet stewed corn, grainy malts, and the finish of sugar water. Thin body, medium carbonation, mild bitterness. Overall a simplistic, sweet, light beer that I hope to never have again.

Fix 1864 Spezial has a medium, white head and a clear, yellow, clear, bubbly appearance, with lots of streaming bubbles and no lacing. The aroma is of rather rank, cheap, sweet grain, and the flavor is similar, with grain husk and off-tasting sweetness. Mouthfeel is light and watery, and Fix 1864 Spezial finishes semi-dry and mostly unpleasant, but one can drink it. Overall, this is another cheap, scam-type beer that alleges to be something that it is not. One doubts that the real Fix of Greece tastes anything like this bum. At best, this is low average.

I bought this beer because it was advertised as being 'from Greece' at Total Wine.. Only to find it's actually considered to be from the US on BA... Oh well.

Pours a light gold color with a sliver of a white head. Minimal carbonation and lacing on my snifter glass. The nose is skunk, grain, and weak malt. Utterly disgusting. Taste is slightly better, but nothing to write home about. Fizzy grain is the main taste, very watered down. Feel is light, fizzy, undercarbonated, and fairly flat. Overall, not a good choice for anyone at anytime.

Not to be confused with the Fix helles lager from Greece. This one is just an American adjunct lager from Dover, Delaware. 12oz brown bottle with no freshness date.

The beer pours a clear, light gold color, but fails to make more than a thin rim of white head that dissipates instantly and leaves no lacing, so can't give much for appearance points.

Slightly sweet nose. Other than that it's pretty clean and inoffensive - which is another way to say it's bland.

Taste is pretty much standard macro lager with perhaps a touch of green apple flavor. It also takes on a mineral water flavor as it warms. Not too bad when it's ice cold.

Light and under carbonated mouthfeel.

Haven't tasted the original Fix from Greece yet, so can't compare it. This one's nothing special but will do in a "fix".

Small white head falls into a thin but decent lacing atop a clear golden colored beer.

A slight bready malt mixed with a light citrus aroma, quite a lot going on in a subdued light adjunct beer smell.

Taste is light bitter /sour hops mixed with a slight bready malt, kind of mellow but in a good way.

Not much aftertaste, maybe a tad citrus and less dryness.

This isn't nothing to run out and buy if you like rich hops or malts in your beers, but if you are a Coors or Bud fan you'll like this, since it seems to be what they were aiming for but they definitely fell short.

Another Wilkes-Barre retro offering, eh? I had a Rheingold last night, so lets see how different this one is. Pour is clear, light gold in color with a small white head.

Nose is grainy with a whiff of skunk. Smells pretty much like a combo of Adjunct Lager and Euro Lager. Maybe akin to pouring a half Schlitz and half Heineken. Not impressive.

Taste is light green apple, corn grist and grainy malt. Modest hopping results in a flash of bitterness on the finish and overall it has a Euro Lager feel to it more than an American Adjunct Lager. I really dont think this tastes much different from the Rheingold I had last night, talk about re-packaging! Pretty bad beer, not worth anyone's time or money here.

a: Very slightly hazy, yellow-gold. Short lived white head, leaves minor lacing.

s: Like a standard adjunct lager, but with a little more breadiness and some unusual, but not unpleasant spicy smell.

t: Again like a standard macro lager, but with a little more heft, and some floral breadiness, and a sort of metallic spicy aftertaste.

m: Light, fair carbonation, average.

d: Interesting for a little while, and not a bad beer for the category, but little reason to want more than one.

Appearance: Aggressive pour yielded an amber color with a small, fizzy white head.

Smell: Some sweet caramel and citrus hops.

Taste: Seems like that sweet caramel was actually a nutty flavor, some citrus hops on the finish. Not very good.

Mouthfeel: Very thin, good amount of carbonation.

Drinkability: Eh, it goes down. Definitely not something I would look for.

Spotted a few dusty bottles on the shelf at a local store and figured it was worth a shot for $1.50. Didnt know it was retired til I looked it up here. No dates on the bottle. Oh well, here goes nothing.

Bottle to shaker glass.

A- Hazy gold, one finger white head that disappeared pretty quick. No lacing. Very active carbination.

S- Nothing special but hints of what I can only describe as rubbing alcohol on sheet metal.

T- Pretty much the same as the smell with a little splash of citrus.

M- Thin, watery body. Carbination was present the whole time.

D- I wont be picking up the other ones the next time I'm there.

not bad at all. tried one at a recent greek festival in B-more. POured out a pale amberish yellow with a decent 1 inche head that was failry fizzy and dissipated rapidly. NO real lace to speak of. aroma was just plain jane, nothing amazing. taste was also average slight malt and slight hop with hints of floral/citrus tastes. very clean and crisp and quite refreshing on a hot day as it was. I would definitely drink this before BMC it had more body and flavor to it and had a nice refreshign crispness to it that tingled the tongue. Not great and pretty much average as a whole but I found it quite enjoyable to drink

The original Fix brewery burned down a while back, so I was curious as to who made this and how it would taste. Some to find out Old Dominion brews it now, and they are good brewers, so that peaked my interest as well.

This was a downright strange brew at first. It had a very wierd malty/metallic/fruity taste to it, but got a little bit better as the beer warmed. The metallic taste was still there, but the floral bouquet of fruits, flowers, and malt got a bit more pungent. This was also accompanied by a very slight hop taste. Overall, this wasn't a bad beer at all. I wasn't really sure what to expect, since most beers from this area are kind of dull and boring. I was pleasantly suprised by this one.

Proudly served at a Greek restaurant in Columbus, you have to look pretty closely at the bottle to realize it is actually brewed in the USA, and it is billed as the "official beer of Greece" or some such. The label says it is an "Amber Ale" but it really is a Lager. Golden/amber color with a medium thin white head. Fizzy with little lacing. Aroma is lightly hoppy and lightly malty. Somewhat light-bodied and mildly malty under a low level of hops and citrus. Not a beer I would seek out but goes okay with a gyro platter.
