Look: Lighter brown with amber edges. Short light tan head dissipates rather quickly.
Smell: Roasty milk chocolate. Some caramel. An odd tin-y nuttiness.
Taste: Starts with a little sweet roasty malt and finishes very dry. Middle is fairly nutty. Not extremely complex but easy drinking.
Feel: Body is a little light for a brown. The carbonation is fun. The dry finish inspires more sips.
Overall: Fairly indicative of an English brown sans the big body. Good session beer. Easy to put away a growler. Also, this one has a soft spot for me as it was pretty much the first micro's back in high school that really got me to fall in love with beer. Nothing but love for this beer and brewery.

not a bad brown ale. pours lighter brown with plenty of transparency and a bit of red in the color. short lived off white head of a finger or two. the nose is nice and roasty, chocolate and caramel notes both, and this smells very sweet. the flavor confirms a nice toffee tasting English malt profile, not nearly as dark and heavy as some other English browns, this one is rather light and drinkable, especially since the early sweetness dies pretty quick and it finishes up on the dry side. there is a butterscotch flavor in there too, but this beer lacks serious complexity and comes across a bit plain. lighter body and low carbonation I think fits the style well. not my favorite glenwood canyon brew, but this is pretty well made and drinkable enough. B to B+ overall.

Full finger of yellow tan head over a nearly clear dark brown liquid (orangish hints). Smells oxidized primarily. Woody hops bkaer's dry chocolate, cheery, banana. Blech,
Starts dry woody with dark malts and some raisiny esters. Cherry sourish. Ends dark grain with rising sweet of playing toffee and esters. Some oxidation roughens it up. Strong carbonation cleans the palette. Touch astringent in the finish from the dark malts on the subtle malt.
Light body and moderate carbonation. A mediocre beer.

Swung through Glenwood Springs yesterday and finally took some notes on this brew:
A: A lightish brown with little head.
S: This is one aromatically challenged beer. The hints of toffee and hazelnut are slight at best.
T: A non-offensive and very mild brown, with unlikely flavors of tea and bread. It has a good sweetness.
M: A light body with a distinct enough 'nut' flavor to cut through heavier (read: starchy) meals and still maintain a good sense of flavor. In fact, this brew's ability to accompany a meal is its most redeeming characteristic.
D: Fine though unexceptional
Overall, this is a slightly below average brown that is notable only in its sturdiness with the food coming out of the kitchen at the Glenwood Springs Brewpub.

A veryt nice dark brown color that smelled like real nuts and malts with little to no head. It tastes very sweet and nutty with a nice smoothness to it. This beer was a good beer to have over and over. While it lacked complexity it was an enjoyable beer with some unique character.

A dark brown - truly nut brown - color. Very mild aroma of malt, no head. A sweetish hop taste greets your taste buds, then follows a little prickly carbonation - just right - excellent taste! Medium body, not thin. The finish is nut-like, slightly dry. Not a complex beer - but worth trying, and staying with for a session!
