An English Ale from Russia... can't say i've seen that before. One of those impulse buys that you regret once the bottle is opened. Twist off cap, slight muted hiss of CO2 escapes. Poured into a large tapered mug, it doesn't seem to generate all that much foam. Body is a brighly clear copper color, a column of ascending bubbles in a column emanating from the base of the glass. Fleeting cap of foam that barely lasts a minute, then dies off completely, leaving zero lace.

Aroma is sweet and musty, reminds me of Muntons canned malt syrup extract.

Soda carbonation and astringency, sweet with some dark bread and nutty malt flavors. Really shouldn't be that sharp, especially if they're going for an English ale. Somewhat generic and sweet flavor profile with a thin bodied, overcarbonated feel to it. Not a beer i'd particularly even finish, let alone buy ever again.

Presented in a fish-eye pint, Old Bobby is clear and bright dark copper with fair carbonation. A modest, off-white head quickly dissipates leaving no lacing.

Caramel malt is prominent with some wet cardboard and little else going on.

Unbalanced caramel, otherwise there is not much going on. The aftertaste is messy at best. This one is really not worth the effort of consumption. I’m not sure, but I think I taste butter.

Light body and watery texture with a hint of carbonation. There is lots of acrid astringency assaulting the palate.

I finished what I could, but it was an effort. I’m not sure to whose palate this was intended to appeal.

A: Quickly dissipating off white head over a burnished copper ale

S: Malt dominant aroma, with faint hints of wheat.

T: Wheat intensive ale, a bit astringent. Not at all bitter, and hardly taste any hop characteristics.

M:Smooth non bitter ale. Light carbonation.

O: Not a bad run of the mill ale. I can imagine this being drunk in alehouses throughout the 18th century. Its a session-able non high abv beer, good with a meal of lamb and rice or maybe fish.

Ale from Baltika? It sounds interesting! One pint bottle. Sugar as additive.
Pours clear copper beer with decent off-white head. Aroma of caramel & some kind of unclear hops. Ahh, the taste is strange and lagerish, pale malts and chemical hops, regular mass-oriented macro crap, of course, the ale is sweeter, than Old Bobby Lager.
