Served in a branded pilsner style glass. Very light in colour, with a sweet nose. Grains come in strong at the front, but it finishes fruitlike, perhaps a melon, I has having trouble determining what type. Not terribly complex, but pretty solid and consistent. A nice afternoon beer.

After a day of touring St. Petersburg and walking up and down Nevsky Prospect, we found a nice corner restaurant near Pushkin's statue and sat down to get some local beers to imbibe while we relaxed. Baltika 7 was on the menu, so here we go...
Poured into a 1/2 L weizen-looking glass, there was a billowy 3-4 fingers of egg shell white head that perched up there for what must have been 5 to 10 minutes. The body of the beer was crystal clear enough to read the menu through it. Color was a very light yellowy amber, and the head produced sticky spiderwebbed lacing as I drank.
The aroma is like a watered down Dortmunder Gold. Certainly more mellowed, the grassy hops provide more of a balancing aroma than they do a stunning focal point of the beer. The malt is light and clean, and there are no off aromas, but I am not excited by the aroma. The flavor is certainly better, as the grassy hops do come on a bit stronger and are augmented by a light floral kick that really balances the sweetness of the beer well.
Easy drinking, light on the palate, and nicely carbonated for the style, this is without a doubt one of the best beers that I was able to enjoy on my trip. It likely doesn't travel well, judging by the reviews on here, but in the motherland, this is definitely one to try. I would seek this out if I was in Russia again.

Appearance:
A very clear yellow, lots of carbonation bubbles but no real head.
Smell:
Clean and thin. Slightly sweet with a touch of grain. Not very aromatic, but nothing particularly unpleasant.
Taste:
Schlitz, anyone? That's what it reminded me of immediately. Clean tasting, crisp. Light hop bitterness that's balanced fairly well with the grain, though it doesn't have any really strong flavors to it.
Mouthfeel:
Light and mellow, and very carbonated.
Drinkability:
Because this has such light flavors, it would be easy to drink a lot of them. It doesn't give your palate a strong workout.
If you can find grenchki (very crispy rye bread toast-fries with garlic and mozzerella), 7 fits well with them for a night of drinking in St. Petersburg.

Served in a pint glass from a tap.
Appearance; Clear straw colored with a small head that goes away quickly.
Smell; All I get is slight malty smell.
Taste; First sip is slightly sweet, malty up front with little hop flavor. The finish was biscuity.
Mouth feel; Slick with little body.
Drinkablility; This is a easy drinking session beer that goes great on a hot day like it was yesterday. Nothing special but great to have around when finished cutting the grass.

Poured a medium straw hue with a one finger foamy white head. There was decent retention and lacing.
The smell featured a sweet adjunct malt.
The taste consisted of soft sweet malts, corn and a lightly herbal hop.
The mouthfeel was toward the lighter side of the style.
Overall a decent adjunct euro lager.

Tap at Klimat in NYC.
Pours a pale golden. What little head there is quickly fades to nothing. The aroma is very light. If you're paying attention you can pick out herbal hops and a bit of citrus.
Sweet, pale malts. Mild grassiness, not much in the way of bitterness. Light-bodied, moderately carbonated. Lacks the crispness that would make the beer seem less watery.
Inoffensive, no outright unpleasant characters, but nothing special.

The on tap version of this beer comes out closer to golden than the canned rendition. The head is also much more substantial, almost up to average. Interestingly, the malt smell from the can is much weaker on tap - hardly noticeable at all. The mouthfeel is all bubbly, like a Coke. The malts are definitely present, but I'm still looking for some hops. There was no finish and no aftertaste. Yeah, it's drinkable, but I'll always ask the bartender what else is on tap.

Bright golden color with lots of thick head with good retention.
Aroma of malt and grassy hops.
Sweet malt flavor balanced by its grassy hops. Mildly dry but bitter aftertaste. Some buttery notes.
Full body with strong carbonation.
On the lower range of drinkability among Pilsners. I found it a bit too heavy given its buttery notes on a sweet malty base. Number 4 is still their best bet.

From the 25 fl. oz. green bottle with the screwy flip top. No. 13.08.12-15:10/13.08.13-5W. Sampled on March 31, 2013.
The pour is yellow with a longer lasting head than Baltika's #2 and #5 pale lagers. Good clarity.
The nose is fairly weak with some grains, grass, and a slight hop note but they all meld together in a blase fashion and do not make the beer all that enticing.
The body is light.
The flavor has a little more character with grainy malts, astringency, and a slightly lingering clean hop finale. Heineken, Carlsberg, St Pauli Girl - take your pick. It is very much like those but I think it is meant to be. Baltika #2 is better.

My first Russian, this was purchased out of sheer curiosity.
Taste wise it is malty with a very minor hop presence
Cereal notes, no unpleasant after taste that would accompany lesser lagers
Very Crisp and somewhat dry, In my opinion its a little too carbonated.
Overall it is sweet and drinkable.

Appearance: Clear medium golden body with a large white head, thin, fine-beaded lacing coats the glass wall. A few fat bubbles drift lazily to the surface.
Aroma: Lots of clean pale malt with a mildly earthy yeast note, clean and understated.
Taste: Opens with an abundance of pale malt, very mildly sweet, somewhat like freshly -baked white bread, as well as grassy hops. There seems to be a faint alcohol presence as well. AS the taste progresses, a very mild hop presence presents itself, which brings the taste to a graceful close.
Mouth feel: Smooth, soft, very pleasant.
Drinkability/notes: Very drinkable, in a pleasant, understated sort of way, a quality beer, which speaks softly.
Presentation: Packaged in a custom 500ml (16.9 oz) green glass bottle with a pry-off crown, served in a New Belgium Brewing chalice.

Poured chilled in ale glass.
A: clear light yellow; lots of carbonation, aburst in clouds; thin head;
S: oh boy, macrostink; not appealing at all
T: hints of lemon, orange; nicely sweetened; a bit grouchy at the end of the swallow (slightly metallic)
M: robust, astute
If you can taste without smelling, it's not bad for a dinner beer.

A - pale, clear yellow with a thick, soft cap of dense, foamy, white head that has great retention
S - grass, straw, apples, sweet, caramel
T - apples, sweet, bread, warming alcohol in the finish
M - warm, light to medium bodied, well carbonated, crisp
By appearance this is better than your average lager. It smells like a good effort was made. By teste it's too sweet and fruity. The bready malts try to save the day but to no avail. I'll pass on this in the future.

Pours a very clear golden yellow. Moderate head that lasts a few minutes. Good bit of carbonation, bubbles rose for at least 15 minutes. Malt and grain aroma. Taste is slightly malty and grassy. Pronounced mineral aftertaste. Not a great beer, but better than Bud or Coors. At least now I can say I've had Russian beer. I actually expected it to be worse than it is.

Bottled 6/22/12. Best before 6/22/13.
Pours a clear golden yellow with a foamy white head that settles to a small cap on top of the beer. Small dots of lace slowly drip into the remaining beer on the drink down. Smell is of malt, grain, and a slightly skunky aroma. Taste is mainly of malt and grain with a mild corn flake flavor on the finish. There is a mild bitterness on the palate after each sip. This beer has a lower level of carbonation with a slightly crisp mouthfeel. Overall, this is a pretty poor beer that doesn't smell or taste very good.

Tall boy can served in a half pint.
A: Pours a clear yellow color with a quick dissolving white head forming on the pour. No lace. Nothing crazy.
S: Some mineral water with a light skunky hop profile. Pale malts with a touch of glue.
T: More mineral water with some light plastic to boot. Grassy and skunky hop profile with a touch of grainy malts.
M: Light and clean. The body is very watery and light. Goes down quick and harmless.
O: There were some artificial notes in there that really hurt the flavor, otherwise it would have been a normal export lager.

I got this beer from a Ukrainian co-worker, thanks Alex!
500ml bottle served in a pilsner glass.
L - clear bright yellow color with a white head that thinned to a ring despite the constant rise of tiny bubbles.
S - grainy and grassy.
T - starts out kind of sweet and grainy with grassy (a bit skunky) bitterness mid way finishing on the sweet side.
F - light, crisp and refreshing.
O - not as bad as I thought it was going to be.

A-Golden with medium carbonation, huge white head.lasting few minutes.
S-Citrus notes,a bit lighter smell for lagers.
T/M-I expected to be more bitter, but bitterness is very low. On the other hand, taste is high drinkable, grains, some sweets.
O-It is good, but not many different then No3.

A-golden with a huge off white head
S-smells like a typical European lager. European grains and honey. Doesn't smell terrible.
T-actually comes in with a very nice and crisp taste of light honey and fresh grains with a subtle hint of that classic european lager taste. The after-taste has more honey, more crisp grains, and more bitterness. This is actually quite okay!
M-crisp medium carbonation with a semi dry finish
O-I actually love this. It has a taste of high quality and it's so drinkable! This has got to be the best euro lager I've ever had. I wish I could find this by the case here. It is quite cheap though!

Poured into a plastic cup. Minimal head, just enough to cover the surface. Golden, transparent color.
Smells like barley, other grains. Pleasant.
Watery taste at first, progressively sweeter.
High carbonation, which dampens the mood. Crisp and light body.
Not horrible, not great.

I picked this beer up in my pursuit of reviewing all 104 styles. This beer is one of the easiest to get for the Dortmunder/Export Lager style.
I didn't expect much from a brewer coming out of Russia, but this beer surprised me. This is a very easy to drink lager.
The smell is nice and clean. It carries a minimal presence. The flavor is also very clean. I get a little bit of grassiness, and a tiny nutty touch.
I recommend this as a very easy to drink lager. The flavor is spot on.

A: The beer is clear straw yellow in color and has a light amount of visible carbonation. It poured with a one finger high bright white head that died down but consistently left a thin layer of bubbles covering the surface and a thick ring around the edge of the glass.
S: There are faint aromas of sweet malt in the nose and light grassy hops.
T: The taste is similar to the smell but is stronger with flavors of biscuit malts, corn and malty sweetness - some dry biscuit.
M: It feels light-bodied on the palate and has a moderate amount of carbonation, little bitterness and a little stale.
O: This beer is easy to drink and goes down easily. I would have no problem knocking back a few of these.
