Had on firkin at Nerax at Novare Res.
It's a super hazy peach orange color with light fizzy head.
Nose has light bready funk, hint of tart fruit, bit of barrel esters, a slight soured fruit like aroma, tart berry, hint of earthy hops.
Taste has light dry funk, malts galore!, belgian malts, and even a slight sweetness before getting really dry. Brett really comes on strong, with some light esters and fruit, a slight earthy hop kick, and creamy smooth malts.
Mouth is med bodied, decent carb for cask.
Overall nice but not great. I've had lots of awesome Allagash beers before and this is good but not great. Most other breweries if they made this it would be awesome, but Allagash has such a high standard now for me this is just good, not great. But still tasty, nice malts and tart fruit, bit of funk, even slight hop kick.

From 09/10/11 notes. Had on tap at Belgian Beefest up in Boston.
a - Pours a murky dark orange amber color with one inch of white head and moderate carbonation evident.
s - Smells of spices, fruity malts, light citrus hops, and some earthy notes. Enjoyable, but heavy on the spices, and not really sour at all.
t - Tastes of spices, dark fruits, wood, earthy notes, some bread and yeast. Again, lots of spices and not sour at all, but still tasted good.
m - Medium body and moderate carbonation. Pretty easy to drink.
o - Overall an interesting and good beer, but not what I think of in a "Wild Ale" at all. Heavy on the spices, it reminded me more of a Belgian dark ale. Either way, a good beer I'd try again.

Enjoyed at the BBF. Had to sample it, if just for the name (after Sam Kinison of course)
A - Poured a slightly hazzy orange with a very tiny head on it that dissappeared very quickly.
S - Really enjoyable beer. A nice blend of both Thing 1 and 2. While I love them both seperately I think combined things got a bit muddled. Its fruity, its earthy, molasses, and a slight wild funk to it. Good, but conflicting.
T - Pretty much identicle to the nose. Its good, yes, but not that harmonious. You've got the nice hoppyness from Thing 1 and the sweet almost dark fruit qualities from Thing 2. Those, melded with with some sour beers, just didnt jive for me. Too much going on for me between the funk, tartness, hops, and dark fruits.
M - Like every other Allagash I sampled the mouthfeel on this was practicly spot on. Really good carbonation made this quite inviting and refreshing. Definately had me going back for more.
O - Overall, I liked this beer. Good combination but a bit muddled for me. Still even with the slight fueding it was still a delicious offering.
