Served on-draught into a taster glass at Alesmith brewing. Reviewed from notes.

A: Pours a half finger milky white head of nice cream and thickness. Retention is below average. Body colour is a solid nontransparent dark brown. No yeast particles are visible. No bubble show.

Sm: Bitter coffee notes and roast. That's about it. A fairly strong, surprisingly simple aroma.

T: Coffee bitterness and coffee roast. Rather one-note, especially for Alesmith. A bit nutty, but these notes are obscured. Some nice caramel. Well balanced and built, if disappointingly simple.

Mf: Smooth and wet. Suits the flavour profile well. Good carbonation and thickness.

Dr: Very drinkable for a brown. The coffee adds a unique dimension and tests style conventions. I like it. I'd get it again, and I don't say that about many browns. That said, its simplicity really holds it back.
