On Tap
Night of a Million Zillion Speedways
O'Brien's Pub
San Diego, CA
Dark as night black with brown edges, thin head but the body of this beer is just spectacular. It's thick and oily and leaves the glass absolutely covered in sticky lace. Thick as can be and dark as night. Spectacular.
This is a heavenly trip for lovers of chocolate. This has incredible notes that can only be described as gooey, rich, fudge brownies just out of the oven. Complementary to the chocolate is a touch of roast and a bit of earthy sweetness, but the chocolate aromas coming from this beer are simply spectacular.
The flavor is similar to the aroma. The chocolate flavors throughout are authentic, rich, deep, layered and complex. This is perhaps the most chocolate flavor in a stout I've ever had.
Thick, oily, luscious, decadent mouthfeel.
An incredible variation of Speedway Stout, though I still prefer the coconut and vanilla variation just a bit more.

On tap at O'Brien's.
A: Black with a finger of dark brown foam. Good retention and scattered lacing.
S: Aromatic cocoa, dark and rich, with a very faint vanilla presence. Coffee is restrained, and I get a little licorice and roast.
T: Rich cocoa with a bittersweet quality to it. Coffee is overwhelmed but is evident in its earthy fashion. I get barely any vanilla as the cocoa nibs are all consuming.
M: The mouthfeel is chewy, sticky, and smooth with notable alcohol warming.
Overall: I was hoping for more vanilla as it's barely there. Still, this was really good.

On tap at O'Briens night of a million zillion speedways
Look: Black and totally opaque with a 1/4 inch tan head and great retention and some nice circular lacing
Smell: Very unique cocoa nibs that create a fantastic chocolate brownie smell
Taste: The chocolate character in this beer might be the best chocolate notes I have ever had in a beer. Just perfect
Mouthfeel: Full body low carbonation and a silky smooth feel that is just fantastic
Overall: Along with the vanilla coconut variation is my favorite variation of speedway they took a great base beer and made it exceptional
