Black in color, Forms a tan-gray colored head. Good retention. nice lacing. Aroma is unexciting. Coffee, dark malts, and carbonation. Taste is much better. Dark roasted malts, coffee, slightly acidic coffee, slightly metallic, but little else. Medium bodied, very thin for the style, Moderate bitterness.
A sort of decent beer. Certainly not worth the hype or what this beer seems to be fetching.

Large format bottle into a mini taster glass. The brew pours black in color with a khaki colored head that is similar to the base brew as expected. A little bit of spotty lacing sticks to the glass.

The aroma is quite earthen with more focus on chocolate than I am use to smelling in speedway. The roasted coffee appeal has that familiar aspect of kopi but honestly it doesnt have that much of an impact to make it prominent.

The flavor is quite tasty with roasty coffee flavors that blend into more of an earthen flavor. A bit of chocolate emerges from the roast and a touch of fruity alcohol esters.

This is a modestly carbonated offering with a medium body. It is easy drinking with the alcohol being masked much better than normal speedway. Kopi Luwak coffee's most noticeable aspect is how rich and smooth it is with a unique earthen aroma and flavor. I felt lots of the kopi specific traits were lost here but it still made for an enjoyable experience.

Thanks to rudzud for sharing.

Nice big frothy thick darker rich head, fades slowly with plenty of thick layered lacing, pitch black beer no light, gorgeous looking!

Nose is nice, fresh roasted coffee beans but not overbearing roast, mellow smooth coffee mostly, earthy nutty like coffee too. Then malts bring some cocoa, coffee like roasted malt, little nutty with caramel and fluffy nougat. Light dusty chalk cocoa too, light oats too, and very faint booze. It does get a nice expensive lush choc aroma too.

Taste starts with smooth rich coffee and dark malts. Coffee is light nutty but smooth, little toffee like to. Malts are dark, light roast without acrid flavors or burnt, then into choc, dark choc and expensive cocoa. The coffee turns strong flavor wise, but a nice earthy expensive coffee fresh bean, little earthy and nutty, and a light vanilla character, almost espresso but not as strong. The nice coffee bean flavor fades to light bitter roast as it brings earthy hops too, and just a touch of booze, lingering dark choc and very good smooth but earthy nutty coffee flavors.

Mouth is fuller bod but not syrupy, thick slightly creamy, nice carb, faint hint of booze.

Overall very good, very tasty, the coffee is awesome, very tasty, delicious, the booze is hidden well, very smooth and rich tasting coffee bean and choc, I could drink lots if this.

Shared with JLindros.

A - Poured into a Kate the Great tulip a super dark brown almost black hue with a thick and creamy mocha head that left sticky side lacing and very nice head retention.

S - Aromas of nice chocolate and definitely rich expensive coffee beans. Not my first kopi luwak stout but may be my favorite noise of them all.

T - Taste is dark bakers chocolate, roasted malts, and delicious expensive coffee beans that just assault the pallet. Just assaults the pallet with smooth creamy earthy rich coffee. Just very complimentary to each flavour.

M - Mouthfeel is wonderfully creamy and rich, silky smooth like fine velvet.

O - Overall I very much loved this beer. Such a wonderful transition of flavours here. Just love this beer, in my opinion this is better than the bourbon barrel edition.

I like this one. The first impresssion, not much carb. Black as you would expect. The smell is a joy. Choc chip cookies and a hint of soy. Makes you want to pug it. Taste is pretty, but probably not as cool as smell. Good carb, great balance. I am happy I have a few of these to age.
