Poured from a 22 oz. bomber into a pint glass.

Appearance is clear golden orange in color with a nice two inch off-white head that is held up by lots of cascading carbonation bubbles. After five minutes in the glass it's still only down to one inch with big thick meringue-like chunks in the center. Eventually it comes down and leaves a shit load of lace.

Aroma is very citrusy with some piney and floral notes with a baking bread doughy quality to it.

Taste starts off nice and hoppy, still dominated by citrus, particularly orange and grapefruit. Midway through the bready quality comes out with some caramel malt sweetness then the hops return for the finish to leave a nice hoppy but not very bitter aftertaste. Nicely balanced.

Mouthfeel is medium in body with a wonderful soft, smooth quality to it.

This IPA is far and out one of the best that I have ever tasted. So far the only thing that beats this out for me is the Vishnu's Vice IPA from Flossmoor Station. It makes me sad that that was a one-off batch but I am happy that this gem is regular production. Oh wait I'm even more saddened now that I remember I can't get this around here. AleSmith please find your way to Indiana.

(4.25) A: Mostly clear amber colour with a tall and very creamy and puffy head that is stark white. Outstanding retention that slowly forms a crater shape.

(4.0) S: Bold damp pine, tart grapefruit, lemon zest, and buttered bread. Textbook for the style with clearly defined aromas that are big and robust. Earthy/mossy. Noticeable dryness.

(4.0) T: Pine, citrus elements, slightly nutty, and a rich bready backbone. There is a sweet fruity finish to this that resembles cotton candy and/or watermelon – very good whatever it may be. Equal amounts of bitterness and dryness both in generous portions. This leans to the maltier side with that big bready taste presenting itself more as this warms.

(4.25) M: Medium bodied with a mild carbonation. Slick and oily with quite a clean texture for the most part.

(4.0) D: This is a great IPA and textbook for the style across the board.
