On tap at the Blue Palms in LA. Poured into a pint glass. Abv on beer menu is listed as 6.2%.
A-It pours a clear copper color. It has a one finger off white head that shrinks some, but still rests at a nice layer.
S-Really nice hoppy nose. Lots of citrus and pine are present, along with a touch of caramel.
T-Lots of citrus, pine, dank, and a flavor reminiscent of strawberry jello can be found. There is some sugary caramel sweetness that can be found towards the back of each sip.
M-Medium bodied with nice carbonation.
D-A really good hoppy red. The reasonable abv makes it a great session beer.
This was another one of Alesmith's tap only beers that I was able to try while down in LA. It really is a well made hoppy red that I would love to have more access to. I had two of these while at the Blue Palms.

Served on-draught into a 4 oz plastic taster cup at Alesmith's taproom. They really have to get rid of the whole plastic cup system; it's a disgrace. Cost was $2.00.
A: Pours a half finger khaki colour head of great cream, good thickness, and smooth rolling foam. Retention is fair. Good lacing. Colour is a dark chestnut red. No yeast particles are visible. No bubble show.
Sm: Floral hops, with some citrus. Clean malts. Caramelization. Toasted malt. An appealing aroma of moderate strength.
T: Floral hops and clean malts. Caramel. Toasted malt. Balanced and enjoyable. Amber malts. I like it, but it does leave something to be desired in terms of complexity. Not much going on here considering the brewery.
Mf: Smooth and wet. Perfect thickness. Suits the flavour well. Good carbonation.
Dr: Drinkable and enjoyable. Well priced. I'd have it again, preferably from a bottle. Definitely worth a try. A solid seasonal from Alesmith, but not up to par with most of their other offerings.

Pours a clear deep amber color with a light taupe head. Sweet grapefruit leaps from the glass into the olfactory with some rich, sweet butterscotch that underlies it. Mouthfeel is light to medium-bodied with a bit of a carbonation scrub developing midway. Flavors are like a Milky Way bar with a tart cherry on top. Fine effort.

On tap at Beachwood BBQ in Seal Beach, CA.
A: A nice dark red with a hint of copper. It has a wonderful thick tan head that hangs around a bit and leaves a nice snail trail on the glass.
S: Starts of with a nice bouquet of pine hoppiness and follows with sweet caramel and vienna malts and a touch of toffee.
T: Really well balanced beer with a nice bitterness and flavor of resinous and piney hops mixed with the sweet caramel and bready malt profile. Nothing too overpowering.
M: Medium body with a nice creaminess. Carbonation is medium and does not infringe on any of the other flavors.
O: A fantastic red pale ale. A really nice west coast hop character blended with the maltiness of a stereotypical red. A really well executed beer from AleSmith. Very drinkable and I would definitely go back to this one.

Had this at the brewery two weeks ago. This review is from notes.
Pours a dark, ruby red with bright red edges to the glass. A creamy, off-white head lasts forever, leaving many trails of lace behind. Huge, wafting lemony, grapefruit hop notes mix with a much meeker doughy, nutty malt character in the nose. The taste is a lush one two punch of citrusy, piney, resinous hop flavors. The huge hoppiness is completely held in toe by a great toasty, caramel malt base. The balance is flawless. medium bodied mouthfeel with a light to moderate carbonation.
This is an incredible red ale. Hugely hoppy with tons of complex hop flavors. Big maltiness that never gets too much in the way. This is a must try from this legendary brewery.

On tap at AleSmith tasting room.
A: Dark, ominous brown with gorgeous tan head and generous rings of lace. My goodness, something about AleSmith drafts and amazing looking head.
S: Malt forward with a little pine peaking through.
T: Piney with light citrus backing, modest amber malt backbone. Not mind blowing, but tasty and easy going.
M: Medium body and medium high carbonation. Super smooth.
O: Very tasty and drinkable, in a style I'm usually not a huge fan of. One thing about AleSmith I love is that they execute their beers near perfectly.
