Pours a nearly ink black from draft. Small tight head with little lacing. The nose on this beer is very sweet and very enticing. Sweet vanilla, bourbon, oak, lavender, echoes of cocoa, and malt.

So this beer is nearly a milkshake. Sweet succulent vanilla, burnt choclate, oak, bourbon, raisin, prune, caramel. Problem is a very short finish, and a little light on it's feet. Leaves very dirty tannins in the mouth.

I had already bought a 4 pack of this beer ($15.99) earlier today and was really looking forward to trying it especially since I can't find Kentucky Breakfast or Bourbon County anymore. And hence to say the two I can't find are far superior.

Worth a try? Of course, worth the price of $15.99 a 4 pack? I'm not sure I haven't tried it bottled yet. Worth a second pour here at BW3 Indy? Hell no too damn many good beers on draught to choose from.

UPDATE: I had this on draught again last night but at a different place. And the beer was much fuller and smoother with a better roasted malt quality.

12oz bottle Batch #12 purchased a 4pk in French Lick, IN and drank in 2010. Poured into a 12oz glass.
L: Black with ruby on the edges. Thin head. Some sediment.
S: Oak, lightly smoky, caramel, coffee, wood tones.
T: Woody, smoky oak, bourbon, rather sweet but not cloying.
F: Firm, smooth. It's a sipping beer with a long full-flavored finish.
O: A very complex BBS from Blue Grass Brwg that could be cellared for multiple years. It is (was) excellent in it's style.

2009 12oz bottle poured into a tulip, the brew appears black in color with a khaki cap.

The nose is pretty mild but with a hint of oak, roasty chocolate/espresso and vanilla/caramel.

Taste has some nutty character, sweet with milk chocolate and a very clean finish with an aftertaste mildly oaky. As it warms up, the nuance of oak comes forth with caramel and vanilla.

Medium to lighter in body with moderately low carbonation. Decent

One of my favorite bourbon-barrel-aged stouts. The taste brings to mind alcoholic root beer. At least, it does to me.

Draft. Pours black but I see a little light. Little 1 finger head that lingers for a bit. Hints of bourbon under chocolate and coffee through the nose. Oddly light in the mouth with only subtle tastes of bourbon. Zero burn. Light ABV is my guess. Not creamy. Goes down extremity easy and smooth. Could drink several. No after taste . Not filling. Interesting.
