It poured from the bottle a clear golden straw color with a nice white one finger head consisting of tiny bubbles and leaves a bunch of ancient African art stick figures on the side of the glass for lacing! COOOOL!
I was hit with an aroma of both sweet pale malt, earthy hops and white bread! YUM!
The flavour is pretty much the same way. It starts of pale malty sweet and releases some mild fruity notes as it moves across your tongue mixing with some bread then finally letting loose some really mild earthy and piney hops ending only mildly dry and peppery. WOW!
The mouthfeel is light creamy sweet moderate body and a bit of carbonation at first.
Overall I am going to say that this is my new favorite pilsner. It's really good and I highly recommend it to anyone! 5 out of 5! World Class!

A bottle from standard variety pack...freshness date showing until August 2013...decanted into pint tumbler...
A - Frothy 2 inch creamy white head...disipates to about 1/2 inch and hangs on...great lacing...champagne like bubbles...near clear/slightly hazy extra pale golden-yellow...
S - Herbaceous, piney, earthy noble hops, bready-biscuit-yeasty malt aromas...awesome!
T - Citrus, Pine, Biscuits, a kiss of sweetness, nice clean hop bitterness that isn't over powering...subperbly balanced...
M - A slight sting from the carbonation but not in a bad way...light mouthfeel...a little creaminess..
Ovearll - A delicious, crisp, clean and refreshing german-style pilsner...definitely in my top 5 pilsners...Pennsylvania has some great german style beers and this is right at the top...along with Stoudt's Gold Helles-munich lager which is not to be missed.
Other notable pilsners from PA...Victory Prima Pils, Slyfox Pikeland Pils, and Troegs Sunshine Pils, all of which are in the top 50 Pilsners on BA. A difficult style to get right and one that people often overlook or think about as generic...probably has something to do with all the Macro Garbage out there trying to pass themselves as german style pilsners/lagers. When you need a crisp and refreshing brew this summer, reach for a Pennsylvania-Made Pilsner!!

12 oz. bottle poured into a pint.
A- Pours a straw yellow, clear body with a small amount of carbonation rising to the top, and a two finger, fluffy white head. Retains slightly, slowly dying to a thin layer, and some lacing here and there on the way down the glass.
S- A sweet grainy backbone carries a citrusy/earthy hoppiness, and a dash of fruit, maybe apple.
T- Biscuity up front with a bitter balance of hop, and again a slight fruity flavor.
M- Quite a light bodied beer, with medium light carbonation, giving a good tingle. Bitter in the mouth, but the finish is a faint dull bitterness and slightly dry. A lot less bitter than I expected.
O- I enjoy that this Pils doesn't have an overwhelming amount of the generic dull and very bitter hop character that most do. This will be refreshing in the summer.

Not much of an aroma, but it’s refreshing though. Hoppy and comes with an initial rush of bitterness. It is less watery and more packed in flavor compared to the Czech pilsners I’m used to. Quite drinkable and you just keep wanting another sip. Great stuff.

Poured from 12oz bottle into a pint glass.
Appearance: light golden hue with a light haze and a strong effervescence. Head poured two fingers of frothy white foam with decent retention and a little bit of foamy lace. Quite good.
Smell: a little light but sweet and quite malty with a creamy lager character and a balancing aroma of noble hops. I like it.
Taste: at first taste it is drier than the aroma, which is nice. As flavor develops we get a little bit more graininess and a little bit more sweetness as well. Hops start out fresh and noble with a hint of lemon, and later develop into a slightly more herbal flavor and bitterness. I think this is a very well-developed Pilsner.
Mouthfeel: medium body with a good level of carbonation and a nice creaminess, especially for the style. Good stuff.
Overall: I personally love the dynamic qualities of the flavor and the creamy, satisfying aroma. For me this is a top-notch Pils with great drinkability. I will definitely have this again.

Poured a light-medium straw/gold color into a pint glass with an initial head of maybe a 1/4 inch. The head stayed around for at least the minute that I allowed it to stand and then held it up to the light.
I was a little stuffed-up when I sniffed the beer so it took me a few minutes for it to make an impact. My thoughts of it were that it had almost a wine-like scent, just the slightest hint of the typical malty and hoppy notes that I am accustomed to were evident, but the scent that was there could be due to the understated ingredients and brewing.
The taste is just perfectly balanced and understated, right now I feel like I could polish off at least four of these without batting an eye before I would need to make special travel arrangements home if I were to continue after that. Has a noticeably fruity flavor that is otherwise well balanced aside from that. Stoudt's Pils has an immensely drinkable, effervescent mouthfeel that may help this beer supplant Victory Prima Pils as my favorite Pilsner available in my general area.

Had this on 2012-07-06 in Columbia, PA
A - Clear pale yellow with a 2.5-finger fluffy white head and good lacing.
S - Pale malt, grass, lemon, a little spice. Nice.
T - Light biscuit, lemon, grass, slight white pepper, nice amount of lasting lemon zest bitterness. Dries nicely.
M - Light body and medium-high carbonation. Crisp and refreshing.
O - Compares favorably with a Victory Prima Pils but I don't like this quite as much. It's a little maltier and less lemony than the Victory but quite nice.

A-Pours completely clear yellow. Bubbles rise in a beautifully intense manner. Head is a finger's width and white. Head retains for the beer's entirety. Great lacing too.
S-Nice aroma. Grassy Pils hops are the headliner. Cracker malt. Light spice and an almost apple juice note. The herbal and grassy hops are quite aromatic.
T-The hops are more herbal than grassy. The hops are intense for the style which is a plus. Clean and fresh. Cracker malt with light Belgian spice. Apple juice flavor in some areas of the flavor. A Pils with enough gusto.
M-Goes down clean and swift. Massaging carbonation. Lighter bodied. Good Pils feel.
O/D-One of the better Pilseners I have come across that I can remember. Hoppy enough but has proper balance. Plenty to like about this brew.

This brew pours a beautiful golden staw color with a nice head which sticks around for several minuets. Lacing stays on the glass throughout.
The smell is of grass, lemons, spices and little hoppy.
The mouthfeel is full and biscut like. A little chewy.
The taste is good for a Pilsner. There is a floral hop taste throughout from start to finish; clean and refreshing. The malts come in after the hops however the taste finishes with hops. There is also lemon, grapefruit, pepper and biscut. The hop and pepper taste remains on the tongue after swallowing.
Overall I would recommend this brew. It is a well balanced pilsner. A great beer for welcoming the Summer.

Color is absolutely pristine pale and clear shade of gold. Big white head that sticks around and leaves a generous amount of lace. I wouldn't change a thing about how this beer looks. The smell is mostly spicy Teutonic hops, with a little bit of graininess as well. Tastes great, really comes out and bites with the hops and snaps closed with a dry finish. The hops are a little much - don't get me wrong, I'm loving it, but I expected a little more balance, and the scales are tilted in favor of the hops here. Good, easy drinking mouthfeel on this one, clean as a whistle, but it could be a little livelier. Overall, an absolutely brilliant refresher, just about everything I want out of a German Pils. However, if the hops are going to be so strong for the style, I could do with a little more depth to their character, they're a lot more spicy than floral. A little more maltiness for balance would have been welcome. Really, though, the complaints pale in comparison to the achievements of this astonishingly well crafted and authentic beer.

12 ounce bottle into pilsner glass, best by 8/16/2011. Pours hazy golden straw color with a nice 2 finger dense white head with fantastic retention that reduces to a thick cap that lasts. Nice soapy lacing on the glass, with plenty of carbonation streaming up. Aromas of big lemon, grass, orange, biscuit, floral, and herbal hops. Very nice aromas with good strength. Taste of big lemon, orange, grass, floral, pepper, bread, light tartness, and herbal hops. Fair amount of herbal bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of citrus, pepper, and herbal spiciness on the finish for a while. Medium carbonation and body; with a slightly sticky and crisp mouthfeel. Very drinkable and smooth, with no alcohol in the taste or finish as expected at 5.4%. Overall this is a fantastic pilsner, and definitely one of the best I have had. Very drinkable, and full of nice hoppy flavors with good balance. This held up surprisingly well considering the bottle dating.

A: Poured into a pint glass. Appears a shimmering, clear golden straw color with a pristine white head that has some nice retention.
S: Smells very clean with herbal and grassy hops and a sweet malt backdrop.
T: Clean sweetness at the beginning, with herbal, floral, grassy hop flavors building to a nice, crisp, drying finish. Slightly bitter. Nice. There's a funky flavor in with the hops that I striggle to describe, but it's in the background and actually doesn't taste bad at all.
M: Medium body with relatively high carbonation, which equates to a good mouthfeel.
O: A very nice pilsner. Very drinkable and has a deeper hop character than most I've had.

Poured from the bottle into a pilsner style glass. No bottling date present.
A wonderfully even and very uniform perfect white head off the pour with some minor retention, and a crystal clear just golden shining body color. Some rising carbonation that goes at a normal speed, not too fast, and lots of lacing while finishing the beer.
Nose is very buttery though, what's up with all the butter of late for me? It's luckily not overpowering, mixing in with a simple malt body.
On the palate, very dry and crisp finish almost ashen with a very arid lemon feel. Crisp body and what seems to have a very sharp hop sting on the aftertaste. Carbonation is solid and not jarring,
Overall, pretty solid, but I am just not gravitating towards this or going crazy for it.

Received in trade from mdaschaf, thanks for the opportunity.
Pours a crystal clear golden yellow color with a good two finger bone white head that slowly recedes but leaves much lace as she fades. Smells of sweet bready husky pilsner malt with just enough spicy grassy hops to keep this from cloying. Sweet bready pilsner malt flavor balanced with spicy grassy hops. Very dry finish with sharp spicy bite. Medium to thin body with a spirited level of carbonation and sweet honey like mouthfeel. The greatness here is in the subtlety of the flavors and how well the hops and malts contrast each other. Nice nice drinker here.

When i poured this beer into the glass, it has a nice golden color body with a nice white fizzy head. The smell is sweet(grape smell) and some earthy hops, grains. The taste is crisp, the nice bitter earthy hops on the tongue. The mouth feel is great, good and carbonated, and overall is a really good pilsner.

Hay-golden body with a slim, but reliable white head, which splashes upon the glass and pulls back at a gentle speed. Glad to see it's not over-carbonated.
Clean in the nose with sweet, but subtle grape notes, grains, yeast and pistachios.
Not at all shy in taste, with bittering hops up front, hop flavor in the middle--akin to a premium European pale lager, but more robust--and a roasty nuttiness in the back end. Yeast flavors kick in after the overall taste and feel of the brew is established upon the tastebuds.
Finishes slightly sweet, tart and clean. I wish I could see this on-tap or at the very least in bottles at bars around my area. Great beer.

A: Brighter straw yellow/ gold, with a thick pillowy white head. It dissipates leaving behind a thin white head, and lacing.
S: As soon as I opened this one I got hit with grassy/ earthy hops, some sweetness, not sure what, maybe honey.
T: Grassy citrus hops up front... very nice. Followed by that biscut like malt, very well done.
M: Light body, good carb, crisp, and refreshing.
O: Very enjoyable pils, as expected from Stoudts.

Stoudts Pils has a thick, white head and a hazy, yellow appearance with some bubbles and a bit of lacing. The aroma is of lightly-toasted barley malt, sweetness, and clean water, and the flavor is also of light malts, pronounced, yet pleasant bitterness, and water. Mouthfeel is light and watery, and Stoudts Pils finishes crisp, clean, refreshing, and mostly dry. Overall, this is very good.

Poured into a pint glass.
A: Pours a clear straw/gold with 1 finger of loose-laced head. Thin lacing and low carbonation.
N: Lots of pilsner malts, grass, grapefruit and hints of bubblegum.
T: Lemon, grapefruit, bubblegum and some caramel upfront. Pilsner malts follow along with some grassiness in the finish.
M: Medium bodied, crisp, clean, dry and refreshing.
O: A very refreshing Pils. All the elements are there. Nothing too overly complex. Crisp and clean.

Pours a slightly hazy straw with a nice finger of white head.
A little bit grainy aroma with some sharp spicy hop presence.
Starts out with a nice crisp pilsner malt taste. A slight spicy hop bite leads to a very nice dry and crisp finish.
Mouthfeel is light and carbonation levels are high.
One of the better pilsners I've tried. I may seek this out again next summer.

A - Like the other beers the head looks nice and sticky. Another half inch foam capping a nice golden yellow beer. Nice.
S - Smells pretty balanced actually. By looking at the label I bet some think this would be a hop bomb but I only smell slight citrus hops and a bit of skunk grain.
T - Actually very grassy in the taste, leaving a bitter hit of hops or grain on the back of the palate. Flavors clash pretty well but I guess I would like it a bit sweeter.
M - Light to medium but not really my favorite style to session.
Overall it's OK but I would take the "Golden lager" or pale ale over this any day. Still a pretty good beer if your a fan of the style.

This is a robust pils in every respect except aroma. It has dark (forhe style) taste, with lots of malt and hops coming through. A bit of yeast lets itself be know too.
I wish the aroma were more pronounced. It might interfere with the taste then, but I still would prefer more finishing hops. Overall this is a petty good pils, and if I were in the mood I might buy it again.
