Wow, gotta say, this is a great American made hefeweizen! Very similar to hacker-pschorr, which is a classic. Not much lacing, great smell, of pears (maybe?) and definite banana. Tastes of raw banana and wheat, and cloves. Very nice! A bin of a thin mouth feel, yet true to style, very crisp and tasty, and you can drink 50 of these in a sitting. Recommended highly!

Strong aroma is yeasty and wheaty with an undertone of orange. Pours a clear, rather wan yellow with a frothy white head - let us hope that appearance is the one weak spot. Flavor, fortunately, is better - yeasty and wheaty, a hint of citrus, not outstanding but still refreshing. In the body and fizz departments, mouthfeel is about average. OK if not the best - give it a try if you like this style.

Draft at The Pour House in Westmont, NJ.
Pours a slightly hazy, pale golden yellow color with a one finger, frothy white head that slowly settles into a lasting ring. Streaks of lace left behind.
Zesty spice aroma with some pepper, coriander and clove along with bready yeast, light fruit and citrus. There's also a subtle banana character but the citrus/lemon and spice notes are most prominent.
Medium bodied but fuller than expected with a really nice balance of zesty spice, bready yeast, light fruit and crisp citrus. Heavily spiced with strong clove and pepper flavor that's nicely complimented by citrus juice and lemon zest. Slightly tart with some banana and bread notes toward the finish. Well balanced, really refreshing and easy to drink.

Pours a light gold color with a very thin white head that fades quickly leaving little-to-no lacing.
Aromas begin with generic wheat maltiness and phenic yeast notes of bananas and some spice with a touch a touch of undistinguishable hops.
The tastes begin with a strong grainy and slightly tangy wheat maltiness that is quickly followed by yeast derived flavors of bananas and spices with some slight generic citrus hop flavor. The caramel maltiness emerges more and more as it warms. The hops presence is mild and there isn't quite as much balance as you would want in this kind of beer.
The mouthfeel is medium bodied with medium carbonation. Finish is smooth and slightly sticky with some bready and slightly sweet flavors lingering into the aftertaste.
Overall this was a fine American interpretation of the style and there is nothing wrong with it but there are just a lot of others in the style that I would choose first. Forgettable but not bad.

12 ounce bottle - $2.49 at Total Wine & More in Kennesaw, Georgia. Illegible, smudged dating on the neck of the bottle, unfortunately.
Appearance: Pours a lightly clouded, pale gold body with a small-sized, short-lived, white head.
Smell: Very gently toasted golden wheat nose with smooth banana notes and spicy clove accents. A little lemon showing moments later.
Taste: Malty wheat with some crunchy toastiness to it, perhaps a low touch of grain. Lightly honeyish quality and not overtly sweet. Faint, faded lemon fruitiness, then, the near-ripe bananas followed by spicy notes from the clove phenols and German hops. Drying finish pointed by the crispish carbonation.
Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Medium-plus carbonation.
Overall: Passably refreshing and sufficiently representative for an American-born hefe.
