Poured from a brown 12 oz. bottle. Has a caramel color with a 1/2 inch head. Smell is of malts, some spices. Taste is rather mild, malts, a touch of spice, a slight bitterness at the finish. Feels light in the mouth and overall is a decent beer, but I have had better Oktoberfest's.

Pours a clearish amber/orange hue with a finger of foamy white head. Decent lacing down the glass.

Has the signature Oktoberfest smell although a bit muted on the malt compared to others.

Very malty up front, but a little too sweet and a different sweetness than the usual. Finishes a little astringent with some unpleasant bitterness.

Mouthfeel is a tad light, but not detracting. Carb level good.

Not one of the better Oktoberfest out there. I usually like stuff from Stoudts, but this one needs to go back to the drawing board.

A-Pours a clear, light copper/orange color with a finger of white head.

S-Herbal and spicy noble hops with some sweet, bready malts backing it all up.

T-Bitter, herbal hops upfront with a light malt backing.

M-Light bodied and well carbonated with a prickly and drying feel.

D-Not a bad beer, but I really would like a stronger malt presence on this one.

Poured from a 12 oz bottle into a pint glass. Appears a nice, clear copper color. Has a creamy off-white head. Good staying power, very little lacing.

Nose is pretty tame and laid-back. Some sweetness and a very slight spiciness. Overall, too muted on the nose. Taste is very sweet. Bready, caramel and toasted malts. Some spices again, and actually pretty well balanced. The taste is good, nose is just too muted.

Mouthfeel is medium bodied, average carbonation, and leaves a good film on the inside of your mouth. Very drinkable. Overall, a good beer. A better than average Oktoberfest that is very refreshing and goes down smooth. Not worth seeking out, but glad I picked this up.

This beer pours a clear, bold gold with thin head an no lace. The aroma is caramel, nuts, and a hint of roasted malt. The flavor has notes of caramel, orange, and spice, mainly ginger. a tiny bit of root beer shows up in the finish. It's mouthfeel is medium-light. Stoudt's Oktober Fest is a good beer, dry and refreshing. A good example of the style. Recommended.

12oz bottle poured into a pint glass
A: Clear orange with a thin head that lingers.
S: Mostly bready malts with a hint of citrus from hops.
T: Similar to the nose with nondescript malt/hops.
M: Light but not unpleasant.
O: A nice beer for when you just want something simple that you don't have to over-analyze what you're drinking.

Pours a slightly hazy, dark golden orange color with a two finger frothy off-white head.  Decent retention only slowly fading into a lasting ring.  Streaks of soapy lacing left behind.

Slightly spicy aroma with sweet malt notes and faint hops.  Brown sugar and cinnamon with caramel, toffee and biscuit.  Kind of weak really.  All of these elements are subtle.

Medium bodied with a prominent autumnal spice character up front that lingers over the sweeter notes into a dry finish.  Slight crisp hop presence compliments the spices but doesn't overpower.  Not bitter.  Sweet malt backbone is kind of watered down with caramel toffee and nut.  Mediocre.

Appearance is golden, red orange. Frothy head with some lacing.

Nose is fresh, bright hops with a floral component, orange gummy, and yeast.

Taste is light and hoppy, unlike any other Oktoberfest I've tried. Not much malt or harvest taste at all, if any.

Mouthfeel is good carbonation and slightly creamy.

Overall, not true to style and lacks any striking traits. But, it is clean and easy to drink.

A - Pours a hazy reddish-copper with a creamy ivory head that settles to a nice cap, leaving spotty lacing as it recedes.
S - Crisp, clean aromas of toasted pilsner malt, caramel, honey, and fruity German hops. Really nice.
T - Similar to the nose, sweet malt flavors of caramel and doughy bread, toast, and floral noble hops. One of the easiest-drinking Oktoberfests I've had in some time, this is a nice treat.
M - Smooth and slightly creamy, with a medium body and good carbonation.
O - One of the better American examples of the style I've had, this was a very nice surprise!

Poured into a pint glass, it has a nice 1/2 head that dissipates to a lace that follows down the beer. Really nice rich amber color. A malty smell with a very faint hint of fruitiness. Not as crisp as I prefer, but very drinkable. Overall, another nice beverage from Stoudts- I haven't been disappointed yet!

10-6-11 - Purchased from Siciliano Bro's in Grand Rapids, MI.

A - Golden clear orange color. Frothy and creamy 1/2 inch of bubbly head that quickly dissipated. Not much retention and stick, but good initial suds.

S - Malty and clean. A faint fruity smell comes to the nose as you gather a few more breaths.

T - Very unique combination of flavors. It has a faint hint of dry maltiness, but also has a bit of a hoppy flavor that is enjoyable. It even has a little bit of a wheaty taste.

O - This is a respectable presentation of the fall classic, but definitely not a must have. I was expecting more out of this.

A - Pours a slightly dark amber with a half inch of head that turns to a slightly sticky lace ring.

S - Slight caramel and toffee hints. Maybe some toasted bread notes. Very faint.

T - Slight bit of toasted malt and caramel like bread. Touches of toffee and a bit of herbal tea flavors.

M - Bit of medium bodied brew.

Overall it was a very decent Oktoberfest and very drinkable. Nice going Stoudts.

Poured into a pint glass.

A: Clear orange-tinted amber with lots of tiny bubbles and a two-finger, off-white, creamy head that lasted a couple of minutes. Some lacing.

S: Mild caramel malt and fruit. Some spice.

T: Moderate sweetness and light hop bitterness. Caramel malt. Tiny bit of spice. Somewhat toasty finish. Mild flavor overall.

M: Light to medium bodied with fizzy carbonation. Smooth and sort of thin, but good. Crisp.

O: The smell and flavor were a bit mild with this one. Overall not bad, but not great either.

12oz bottle with 1/20/12 stamped on the neck of the bottle.

Pours amber in color with orange hues when held to the light. Off-white colored head stood about one finger tall following my medium pour. Only a thin layer remains after a few minutes of sipping/typing.

Nice malty aroma. A hint of caramel sweetness in there. On point.

Good amount of malt up front. Carbonation massages the tongue, but is on the mild side. Finish is a touch sweet with a trace of hop bitterness.

The initial malt flavor makes for a medium (almost full-bodied) mouthfeel on the front end of this one. It thins out towards the middle through the finish though. Fairly low carbonation.

One of the better Oktoberfest that I've had. Not the best, but not far behind.

Morey's Bottom Line: Super drinkable beer from a brewery that I have a bit of a soft spot for. Not quite as good as Great Lakes. It starts out that way, but it just doesn't finish like GLO does.

A - Clear, orange, with golden highlights. Thin white foam head.

S - Very little aroma, but mostly some sweetness and light fruit smells, but overall pretty clean.

T - This is going to sound strange, but the first thought that came to my mind was "pie". It must be some strange mix of the grain flavor and sweetness. No particular fruit, mind, just a nice hearty maltiess.

M - Medium, decent CO2, but slightly creamy.

O - Pretty decent Oktoberfest.

Very interesting retro looking label on this one. Poured into my Geordie Schooner. Nice thick head on a dark copper base. Head lasted quite awhile. Aroma was malt-a-mania. Tons of malty sweetness both in the nose and in the mouth. Not much in the hops department. Just a regular basic malty Octoberfest. Would like to try on tap. My first from Stoudt's.

amberhue, foamy head with gobs of retention. bubbling carbonation. Nose is clean if not malty, taste is sweet, bready and finishes with light grass and flower. More balanced than many Marzens I've had. drinkable. A much fuller body than many marzens I've tried this year. Nice!!

12 oz bottle. Best by: 1/20/12.

IT pours a light orange with a frothy whit head that quickly dissipates with no lacing.

The smell is pretty poor. IT is cotton candy-like, smells like sugar, even like this odd ice cream smell.

The flavor is bland. There are some mild hops, water, and mild malt.

Terrible rendition of an oktoberfest.

A: Color of dark honey or amber. It has a clean and clear look with 2-3 fingers of off-white head. Quickly fades leaving behind hardly any lacing or film.

S: Sweet, bready malts with toffee and faints spices.

T: Same as the nose. Sweet, bready malts with some toasted grain flavors. A bit of toffee and spice.

M: Kind of thin, but not quite watery.

O: This is a decent beer, but doesn't offer enough for me to seek it out again.

Beer pours an orange/amber color.

The smell is very malty.

The taste is very malty on the front, but finishes with almost no flavor. Very clean and almost crisp finish.

This beer is very light and sessionable. Not a bad Oktoberfest, but not very complex either.

Overall a fantastic Oktoberfest beer. You could put this up against any Bavarian offering and it would still stand out as great.

A very nicely malted nose leads the mouth into a beautiful harmony of flavor and drinkability. I had to stop myself from finishing a whole sixer in an hour's time. It just goes down so nicely, but not in that way where you don't notice. Every sip makes me happy.

Pours a rich amber with a desent size head. Head is off white and pretty dense leaving spotty lacing and settles into surface foam.

Aroma is malty, of course, and has a slight bready or ceral aroma also.

Taste is of biscuits and malts.

Medium mouthfeel with a touch of creaminess.
Slightly dry finish.

Been having my fair share of Oktoberfest this weekend and this one ranks pretty good.
I'd like to try this on tap.

Golden pour with scant head and lacing.

Evenly carbonated with sweet malt and autmnal spice notes at the nose.

Mild brew with little character up front but goes from sweet to only a touch bitter on the finish. Not overly sweet and the spiciness on the nose does not translate well to the pallet. Interesting, I expected the sweetness to over power the spice, but I struggle to detect an abundance of either.

Light bodied and pleasant, a shade above too thin or watery.

Over a descent interpretation of the Marzen, I could easily drink many, but as far as innovation and character go, I would say just a touch on the bland and unexciting side.

A - Medium Amber in color with a creamy colored frothy head.

S - Light malt aroma with a even lighter spice aroma.

T - Has a clean malt flavor and a slight hop spicyness.

M - Medium bodied.

O - Not that great of a beer. It just doesn't have much in the way of aroma or flavor. I thought maybe it was last years beer, but the best by date is 01/20/12. I definately won't be buying this game again.

Pours a light amber into a pint glass with very little head retention.

The aroma is very sweet. Sweet, bready malts, perhaps a bit of toffee.

The taste is quite sweet and malt forward. Toasty bread like malt. Little to no hop presence.

Medium bodied with a light carbonation.

A bit early for the Oktoberfests, but I could definitely drink lots of this in a few weeks. A very enjoyable brew.
