Not too much of a selection. They have the macros, and some regional micros. The cool thing is the prices are nice. I hooked up a case of Sierra Nevada Celebration Ale for $22 plus deposit. The service here is also wonderful. Worth dropping by if Marty's prices scare you off.

more or less an average liquor store - definitely not somewhere you'd seek quality craft; as another reviewer mentions, there's a handful of significantly better options in the area. that said, I was in a pinch recently and needed to grab some decent beer for a party. living nearby, Mall Discount Liquors fit the bill: picked up sixers of Racer 5 and Long Trail, as well as a Harpoon seasonal mixer, also a bottle each of Chimay, Hennepin, and SA Infinium - the latter being the most surprising find. also spotted some Unibroue, DFH, and a few other locals. the store also carries wine and spirits, and of course plenty of macros and the like. not a terrible place if you're in the area and just need something relatively basic; it won't be your place for variety, and especially not for the hard to find beers. might as well continue on down Harvard for another tenth of a mile and hit up Blanchard's or up a few blocks on Comm Ave for Brookline Liquor Mart. Or if you're heading in the other direction on Harvard (into Brookline), there are a couple solid options in the Coolidge Corner area.

This store is just down the road from Marty's, Blanchards, and Brookline Liquors so with those three in the neighborhood there is little reason to ever really go here unless you are looking for a quick 30 or keg of some macro beers.

Most of the selection is macros with about a cooler devoted to slightly better than macro assortment. Most of this comes in the way of well know Euro imports: guiness, bass, stells, hoegarden, Newcastle, and the like.

Domestic beers that are better than average are most of the Sam Adams line-up, harpoon, and longtrail.

Prices are on par with the other stores, but there is simply a pretty poor selection here and one would be better off venturing up the street to Marty's or Brookline liquors.

Mall discount liquors is basically a liquor store tacked on to the side of TJ Max. A hole in the wall to say the least. Tiny little store. Beer selection and prices are middle of the road. For the most part reasonable and usually cheaper than Marty's by maybe 50 cents. Mostly macros, malternatives and your normal Sam Adams and big name micros. Nothing overly exciting. Honestly I think the place where Mall shines is on their liquor prices. A handle of Bacardi or cheap Gin are some of the best prices in the Allston area, but beyond that.... Marty's and Blanchards are a 2 minutes walk down the street.

if you get caught at the nightmarish light at the corner of comm ave and harvard ave heading into allston from brookline and aren't looking for anything particularly special, stop in here. the prices are decent, the selection is average but acceptable if you're in a hurry. you can often find some good deals too if you look around. chances are, if you were heading to marty's or blanchard's only for some SA, sierra, tremont or the like, you'll be paying more and have a horrid time finding a place to park. go here wher there's a ton of parking, save a little bit of cash and be on your way.
