Not content with already having a kolsch (Gudenkrisp, namely), the guys here decided to make another, this time with an American yeast strain (hence the name). Fine by me... This stuff pours a clear straw topped by a finger of white foam. The nose comprises grass, flowers, light citrus rind, and white bread. The taste brings in more of the same, with the grass and bread coming through powerfully together and the citrus gaining a bit more gumption. The body is fairly light, with a light moderate carbonation and a crisp finish. Overall, a nice, pretty clean kolsch, something easy to drink while taking in a hockey game on the tube.
