Super animal lover christmasing near Easton so why not grab a sixer?
Lovely looking beer; stunningly clear dark gold; snowy white head with average retention. Patches of lacing clinging to the glass here and there. Dry hoppy aroma; citrus, oniony hops with a mere hint of crackery malt.
The flavor is also quite dry, with little maltiness and no sweetness; moderately bitter, hops have citric, salty, oniony qualities, light spiciness, dry finish. Vaguely metallic aspect mars the flavor somewhat, unfortunately.
Medium light body, medium carbonation. Not bad, not the tastiest hop combo I've come across, but its different than so many others on the market now and that definitely counts for something.

Appearance is copper with a finger of head that enjoyed good retention. There is a distinct fresh hop nose to this offering. The malt and hop flavors combine well throughout and the finish possesses a solid hop bitterness (perhaps with a bit less punch than the smell would indicate).
This is a very drinkable and solid IPA.

12oz bottle poured into a nonic pint.
A - Good clarity, copper color. Off-white head holds an adequate cap. Plenty of lacing clung to the glass.
S - Pine bomb. Has some underlying biscuit malts. Resiny hops, some solvent-like aroma.
T - Pine hops show bitterness very early. More of a toasty malt dimension underneath the onslaught of bitterness which gives sensation to my whole tongue. Some sweetness midway and finishing up with a lasting wallop of resiny pine hop flavor.
M - Medium body, medium to medium-light carbonation. Finishes dry but has sweetness in the taste.
O - Some haziness to the brew but nice appearance overall. Aroma showed little dimension and was putting off some harsher alcohol. Little sloppy going sweet mid palate. Too hop heavy (blasphemy!) from being just resiny to the point of unpleasantness. Could use more body but feel was descent.

Poured into a Dogfish Spiegelau glass. Bottleneck says 020613 and 060613.
A- Pours a medium amber color with a 1/2 inch cream-colored head that retains well before becoming a thick sheet of surface foam. Fluffy, non-resilient lacing.
S- Piney hop aroma that has a bit of a plastic-y, medicinal fume to it.
T- The bitterness has little character to it as the plastic continues on into the taste. Still, easy to drink since the alcohol is so light. Not much malt going around, just one-dimensional bitterness.
M- Sharp and not so pleasant. Probably the main downfall of the beer. Medium carbonation and a lightish body.
O- An IPA that's bitter just for the sake of being bitter. Quite underwhelming.
