Pours a burnt orange hue with a bubble white ring of head, about 1/2 inch tall. Some lacing occurring here as well. The aroma is quite nice, with an appealing "grapefruit" type of hop-forward scent. For the taste, this is a west-coast style IPA with a barrage of dry pine-y hops. This is for hop heads that like more bitterness than citrus esters in their beer. Practically no malt backbone. A "Two-Hearted Ale," this is not. This is medium-bodied and feels relatively light as it coats the palate. With a lower ABV it's easy to put away a number of these in one sitting. As long as you know what variety of IPA you're getting into with this one, it's definitely a quality bew.
