Picked up a 750ml corked and caged bottle in a trade with Dawson's Liquor in Severna Park, MD and poured it into a Forestinne branded tulip glass - thanks fellas!
A: Hazed honey-like hue with a weak thin head that dissipates before the first sip with no lacing what so ever.
S: Booze, booze and more booze - what manages to come through is crackery malt, cloves and coriander, brown sugar and banana bubble gum.
T: On point with the nose though the booze is on the finish instead of the dominant aspect in the flavor. There's a bit more going on here too - some pear and vanilla mixed with an interesting Belgian yeast strain.
M: Mouthful is weak and watery - it wants to be medium-bodied but just doesn't quite get there - could benefit from more carbonation as well.
Very unimpressive offering from one of my favorite East Coast breweries...and Tripel's are one of my cherished styles - totally out of balance and just too boozy all around and really just not that good when compared to the better of the same style out there. Wished I had liked it more, but just didn't.

Pours a cloudy straw color with a finger of head that dissipated relatively quickly. The nose possesses the definite essence of Belgian yeast. The flavor is sour but generally flat and uninspiring. I am not terribly impressed with this offering from a respectable local brewery.
