Bottled on 5/8/15. 12oz bottle poured into a tulip. Pours black with a small mocha head that leaves solid retention and lacing. The aromas are full of milk chocolate. Cocoa malts are there. Some dark fruits in the mix. Smells very nice. The flavors follow the nose. Lots of rich chocolate along with some banana. The Belgian characteristics are pretty subtle. Slightly spicy. Subtle warmth in the finish, but it's not boozy. Mouthfeel is full-bodied with moderate carbonation. Very smooth. Becomes even more enjoyable as it warms. Great stout.
Besides Sunday Morning Stout, this is definitely their best stout, in my opinion. Well crafted and very enjoyable. Recommended.

Look: jet black with almost no head
Smell: mild aromas of roasted malt and something that I can't quite find the words for but is definitely reminiscent of Belgian quads and dark strong ales. Very mild overall, though.
Taste: follows the nose in both notes and mildness. There is a dry bitterness that is a bit unexpected in such a dark stout. Perhaps the widespread availability of barrel-aged beers has ruined me, but this just comes across as too mild and lacking in complexity to excite me.
Feel: nothing remarkable, a bit thin for the ABV but not bad.
Overall: I know this is an extremely well-regarded beer, but it just doesn't do it for me. It's not bad and I would drink it again if it were offered to me, but it's not something I would spend time or money seeking out.

A solid imperial stout.
On tap at Community Tap Trailside.
Not the most complex stout out there, but for an non-BA beer it is pretty darn good.
If you see it on tap it's worth trying.

Poured from 12-ounce bottle into a stemmed glass goblet. Lightproof black pour, with a thick tan head that left a little sticky lacing as it receded. I got a big blast of root-beer aroma as I started to pour this. Very complex profile, with notes of dark bread, dried fruit, oaky sourness, chocolate, char, molasses, and licorice. Smooth and silky mouthfeel, quite boozy, with a bitter and slightly oily sourness lingering on the palate. Overall, this one isn't for me. As always, however, YMMV.

This is one of those bottles I got months back and forgot about in the back of the fridge. I’m pretty sure I’ve only had one Belgian-inspired Stout before, so this should be interesting. I also grabbed the Spencer Trappist Stout around the same time, so it should be interesting to compare when I get around to that one. Let’s jump in
Pours completely pitch black with 2 fingers of tan head that fades to a thin cap and leaves minimal lacing
The nose seems to bleed together Stout and Quad notes, which is good but they don’t exactly elevate each other. I’m picking up on aromas of milk chocolate, raisin, black cherry, roasted malt, candi sugar, medium roast coffee, and light black pepper
It’s pretty similar in taste and the bitterness comes out quite a bit in the finish. On the front end of the sip I’m tasting cocoa powder, plum, black pepper, medium roast coffee, toffee, brown sugar, dark bread, and vanilla. The swallow brings notes of raisin, brown sugar, roasted malt, bitter coffee, cocoa powder, black cherry, black pepper, and light fusel alcohol
A medium body pairs with gentle carbonation, resulting in a slick beer. Finishes mostly dry with a firm bitterness that makes it go down really easy
Oh yeah, this is solid stuff. Not exactly groundbreaking but definitely unique at the very least. I’m excited to try the Spencer one now

This one was from @Jzeilinger and Thank You for it.
Pours a very dark brown with a thin head that quickly disappears. Smells to me like cherries, chocolate, malt, vanilla and alcohol. The taste is like chocolate, cherry, coffee and vanilla. The ABV is ever present, especially after the drink gets warm, but before that happens, it is alright. After that, it's great. Definitely another Stout that I find myself liking a lot.

Another one from @micada and what a banger!!
I cant fully tell what makes this belgian style , but from experience i assume its belgian yeast which does add a dryer finish on the palate. Off the freeway now and prepping some burgers a la Keto( no buns) with my friend whos a soon to be dad. More good times.
Nose is all deep dark roast and coco.
This beer is all stout flavors i expect : roast, dark malt, 60% chocolate and a slight hop bitterness thats always a delight to get in stouts.
Look? Idk out the bottle . I always thought rating a look is silly.
Feel: perfect.
Overall: good times and good beers. What more can one want.
Cheers!

This is an excellent "first imperial stout" to try if you haven't ventured into imperial stouts. Very easy-drinking with not a lot of complexity to get in the way. A great everyday imperial. I would like to see Weyerbacher make a barrel-aged version of this with a kicked up ABV. That would be a world-class stout!

Picked up a 12 oz single from TW-Greenville SC 7/19/21 for $3.99. Indecipherable number code for bottling date; consumed 10/23/21.
Beer poured deep black with an okay white head.
Nose is medium roasted malts, floral hops, and hints of Belgian yeast esters.
Taste is a large medium roasted malt base that is hopped adequately to balance the sweetness with the Belgian yeast lending a touch of dark fruits.
Mouthfeel is medium to heavy bodied and smooth.
Overall it was better than i thought it would be, very balanced with the alcohol well hidden.
