Appearance: Pours a deep amber-red color with an off white-light tan head that sticks to the side of the glass. Impressive staying power.

Aroma: Candied grapefruit rind is the first thing that comes to mind. Huge citrus simcoe hop aroma with a malty overtones.

Taste: Grapefruit hits you in the face here. Surprisingly sweetness follows the initial bitterness. Toffee maltiness comes through the hop flavor. Bitterness comes back to bite you a second time.

Mouthfeel: Medium bodied, light carbonation. Bitter/sweet balance is fantastic.

Drinkability: At 9% abv, not a brew to be taken lightly, or in heavy doses.

A rich dark mahogany. Noticeable hop presence with a mingling of figs and raisins and plenty of alcohol in the nose. There is enough sweetness to balance the bitterness of this beer and the alcohol is quite evident. It tastes fruity and delicious. The MF is nice and medium for the brew.

A good Imperial IPA.
