Why this doesn't rank higher confounds me. Added to an evening line-up of Weihenstepahaner, Ayinger, Kellerweisss...it holds its own if not betters some of the others. Ayinger hef is king for me but Konig and Kellerweiss rival it on all fronts. Summertime...and the livin's easy as long as these 4 hefs are at arm's length. Less of the bubblegum taste that the world's #1 ranked hef has IMNSHO. Franziskaner is no slouch, and Paulaner is just as good....but Konig is just plain delicious.

Bought from City Super grocery store in Hong Kong. This beer has a great appearance which is perfectly cloudy and it has the color of honey. Poured with a large head that dissipated fairly quickly. No lacing on my glass which is beer clean.
Not a lot of banana or bubblegum on the nose for sure but I get some clove and a bit of a tart smell. The Konig Ludwig Weissbier Hell tastes a bit subdued right off the bat. Mouth feel is superb for sure and I definitely taste the tartness from the nose. Flavor wise, not a lot going on at first but the aftertaste is killer. Very fruity and sweet on the finish and it lingers. Tastes of fruit for sure and I get a bit of banana here as well. I agree with the first reviewer, it definitely has a tiny bit of a pilsener taste in there as well. Probably the same type of hops which there aren't much of in this beer.
Wow, longest review I've written but overall, a good hefe. I would definitely drink this sucker again. Not as complex as the big boys, or as flavorful, but a really great example of the style.

A: The color is hazy orange and the enormous thick whipped-cream-like white head slowly dissipates into decent lacings.
S: Malty, not too sweet, but richer in wheat - ripe bananas. Almost a bit dry. Cloves and lemons. Yeast.
T: Sweet and bready - bananabread. Lots of wheat but not enough to overpower other flavours. Yeast. Citric.
M: Aftertaste holds some bitterness. Body is light and carbonation rich but smooth.
O: A nice Hefe, kind of mellow in comparison with the most extreme ones - nice!

500 ml bottle. Hazy golden colour, heavy that lingers less than others of the style, good lace. Smell of bananas, cloves, citrus. Medium to full body, again less than others, it feels good and the palate, easy to drink (again) than others, but some times it's an advantage. Taste of bananas (lingering), clove, wheat, citrus. I'd have it any day.

A: A cloudy yellow with little orange hues color, with a very big white head that disapears slowly and leaves some traces behind on the glass, carbonation is reach and enough to generate a permanent layer on top of the beer.
S: Maybe the weakest characteristic of this one, even it has the weissbier spirit and wheat is present maybe something else could be strong for the nose.
T: Lots of wheat and citrus the flavor is rich but not overwelming, some banana at the very end and some other thing maybe clove.
M: Refreshing and balanced, it has a neutral sensation not bitter at all and not sweet as expected.

Nice and olde German label design. Sat next to the dunkel in my fridge they look like a couple of Teutonic knights.
APPEARANCE: A mangy straw colour, not the freshest looking wiessbier but has a big b@stard of a head.
TASTE: Occasional subtle wash of marzipan at the back. Cloves in there somewhere. Every sip slightly different. Some banana/fruit salad, but banana slightly more subdued than normal. Something Pilsneresque in there too.
OVERAL: Nothing to write home about but a very, very sound weissbier.

Got it in Greece.
A-Yellow-orange color,big white foam,lasting few minutes,few bubbles.
S-Maybe a bit tiny smell for this style, but mostly banana and some other pleasant fruits.
T/M-A bit watery taste, but mostly very pleasant and drinkable. Just a bit of carbonation needed in it.
O-Very drinkable and refreshing, decent for this style.
