Pours a hazy straw color with a decent white head that persists forever. Smells of pepper and clove with hints of lemon honey and light sugar. The flavor is rich and malty with lots of yeasty phenols that get in the way of me enjoying this beer. Medium body with a moderate level of carbonation and a sweet mouthfeel. I did not enjoy this beer at all.

A: Pours all thick off-white head at first, but after a little while the liquid rises as the head settles; murky orange. Rich lacings.

S: RIch wheat, but not overly sweet; ripe bananas but in a modest way. Pears and some mild hay. Bready malt. Way hidden is a mild tone of smoked ham.

T: RIch ripe bananas, very sweet, almost honey-like. Bready. Mild hay.

M: Sweet but short aftertaste. Body is full with whipped-cream-like smoothness. Carbonation is very well hidden.

O: Yet another fantastic beer from Brauerei Aying. This must be one of the best breweries in the entire world! If you find a beer from Aying that you havn't sampled - be advised - try it, you'll like it!

A: Very hazy golden color with three fingers of dense white foam. Great retention.

S: Strong banana aroma in this beer along with wheat and a nice bready and caramel aroma.

T: Strong banana flavor matches the aroma, but now I get quite a bit of wheat flavor as well. A nice caramel sweetness sweetens the beer quite a bit and goes nicely with the banana. A small amount of citrus rounds out the flavors.

M: Appropriate thickness with strong carbonation.

O: C,pled and balanced with flavors that work very nicely together.

What an absolutely gorgeous looking beer. Poured into a hefe glass, the bottom half is a hazy glowing gold stuffed with beading. The top half is a warm orange juice color which hides the beading. It's capped off with a creamy finger and a half of paper white head. Great lace.

It smells just as good... like a bowl of Banana Nut Crunch. I would elaborate but that is exactly what it smells like. Banana Nut Crunch.

Creamy cereal malts with pale fruits, clove, sweet yeast. Incredibly smooth.

This is impeccable.

Pours a darkened straw color. It's a dusky orange, really, but it looks like a darkened version of the normal banana yellow of their hefeweizen, if that makes sense. Definitely on the pale malt side of the weizenbock spectrum. I used my beautiful Ayinger weisse glass, and the beer appears darkest in the middle with a comparatively lighter top and bottom, probably due to shadows from the glass shape. Very cloudy, opaque. The head is off-white, voluminous and rocky. Good retention but the big bubbles pop rather quickly and it loses some volume. Some lacing.

The aroma is a banana, clove and doughy wheat bread party. It's like walking into a Bavarian bakery that's filled with banana bread. It has magnificent simplicity. It's a hefeweizen turned way up. There's a light lemon note, but otherwise, it's all pale malt and wheat with hefe yeast spice. Maybe, also some light peachiness and a touch of pears, but I'm searching, here.

The taste starts sweet and doughy and finishes sweet with a touch of spice and citrus. It's concentrated hefeweizen flavor. It's not so much refreshing as it is doughy and satisfying. I'd almost call it a dessert beer, but it's not hard to drink. There's a little bit of bubblegum flavor and something vaguely smokey. Lots of sweetness, both malt and wheat.

Mouthfeel is smooth and gentle. Creamy and full. Very light touch of bitterness in the finish, though it's more spicy than hoppy. A touch of warming alcohol.

This is a fantastic beer. It's a concentrated burst of sweet Bavarian wheat beer flavor. Pale weizenbocks seem to be a delicate thing and have a tendency to stray into boozy territory, but Aying is clearly too good of a brewery to go down that road. This is a very likable beer, and it's hard not to smile with each sip.

This brew pours a cloudy orange with a three finger head which dissipates, after a few minuets, into a white cloudy coating and moderate lacing.

The smell is dank with wet hay, yeast, bananas, apple, pear and grapefruit.

The taste is sweet to very sweet. Mostly bananas with a little pear. Some light peppery hops on the backend.

The mouthfeel is smooth and creamy. Cracker like feel with just a touch of peppery hop oil remaining on the tongue after swallowing.

Overall this is more wheat beer than Bock. It is light and easy to drink. It would be good on a hot summer day.

Appearance: Cloudy, yellowish orange. A creamy, frothy, white head dissipates slowly, leaving two or three millimeters.
Smell: Wheat, orange, light banana, and spice.

Mouthfeel: Thick and smooth. Excellent balance of carbonation, creaminess, and frothiness.

This is so good. It tastes pretty much the same as it smells, but somehow even better. With each swish in your mouth you find tiny explosions of orange, then some other fruit, then banana, all having a bit of spice to it. The drink feels excellent in your mouth. Only positive things can be said of this delicious brew. I will definitely get this again. Once again, I love the new design on the label.

Poured from 500mL bottle into Ommegang branded tulip glass.

Appearance: Very hazy golden-orange color with a large, fluffy and fizzy (the fizz is easily audible) white head. Head dissipates somewhat quickly, yielding thick spots of lace around the glass.

Smell: Clove and what are dominant, giving this a characteristic German weizen smell. There are lemon and alcohol notes behind the ever-present weizen aroma.

Taste: Begins with some wheaty flavors yielding to lots of blood orange sweetness with a slight lemon tang. The finish is rather yeasty with notes of banana and a slight alcoholic bittersweetness at the very end.

Mouthfeel: Light to medium body with mild carbonation. Finish is very watery and refreshing.

Overall: This is a damn good beer. A very easy drinker as well, and at 7.1% ABV, a couple of these could really do you in on a hot summer day if you don't watch it!

Pours out a large 1 PT .09 ounce bottle.

A - Looks like hazy a gold color, with slightly tan head. Not anything like Weizenbock Aventinus, my favorite of the style. This is just way too pale for my liking.

S - Smell is slightly sour, almost cheese-like, also getting some faint leather smells, earthy smell, very faint vanilla smells. No spice smells to be found.

T - Tastes like wheat malt, some stale veggie flavors, pale malt, and very slight vanilla.

M - Mouthfeel is rich, smooth.

O - This beer tastes old, tired, musty, stale and overall an unappetizing weizenbock which is a shame because this a beer style that should shine from Bavaria. Could it be an old bottle? It's possible yet I don't think it would have been this detrimental to it's flavor and aroma. Aventinus is leaps and bounds better, as is the Americanized version from Victory, Moon Glow, which is pretty damn amazing.

I've never known Ayinger to make a beer that wasn't enjoyable. This one is no exception. I've only been able to find one other German Weizenbock stateside, which was brewed by Schneider & Son (the makers of the Aventinus). This beer carries the Ayinger quality. The taste is incredibly well balanced, combining the bittersweet wheat flavors with the bubblegum and malt flavors effortlessly. It pours a murky amber and smells like most Weizen beers would. This beer is a good spring or summer beer and I'd recommend it to any lover of wheat beers.

Poured from a bottle into an Erdinger Weissbier glass. The pour is a hazy burnt orange with a nice 2 fingers of creamy head that doesn't last long enough. Maybe my glass wasn't quite clean enough. On the nose I get some nice banana-like fruity esters, some clove-like phenols, and just a hint of dark fruits.

Light to medium body and a sweet, grainy, yeasty taste. I get lots of wheat flavors along with some cloves, bananas, and hints of peach and vanilla. The beer is delicious and very refreshing. No alcohol flavors, excessive hop character, or diacetyl at all. It could probably use just a bit more breadiness and/or dark fruit character, but it's still incredibly tasty and drinkable.

Not my favorite of the Weizenbocks I've had (I prefer less ``weizen'' and more ``bock''), but still an awfully nice beer. Perfect on a Sunday afternoon while relaxing or taking a break from yardwork.

A- a fist of chunky white head that leaves semi-sticky lacing behind

S- powerful banana, hint of pineapple and a touch of perfume-like hops.

T- yeasty character hits hard and right away that transitions into some somewhat light banana/tropical fruit flavors. a slightly bitter bite from the hops and overall dryness are in the end. the alcohol is more tamed than i expected

O- not as malty as the others on the market, but that makes it sort of interesting. not one of ayingers better brews, but still a respectable effort.
