Enjoyed at Brick Store Pub over Labor Day weekend along with my girlfriend Meggie88. Poured from the bottle into a Cantillon glass.

A--Pink cherry, ruby color with a short-lived bubblegum pink head that dissipated quickly, leaving only a small amount of lacing down the side of the glass.

S--Cherries, yeast, vinegar, and lemon juice. This thing had both sweet and sour components.

T--Lip-puckering sourness on the first sip. Vinegar, bitter cherries, and pure lemon juice. Then, once the palate adjusted, the sweetness of the cherries powered through and the sourness diminished.

M--Light-bodied with a bit of carbonating scrubber bubbles. It was a refreshing drink once the sourness left.

O--This was a better-than-average lambic, but it wasn't the most earth-shattering beer I had over the weekend.

2011 - 375mL bottle into cantillon glass.

A: Ruby Hue, Thick Pink Head (that quickly dissapates), No Lacing

S: Tart Cherries, Hay, Acidic

T: Hay, Tart Cherries, Mild Vinegar

M: Average Carbonation, Medium Bodied, Semi Tart

Overall, a couple of years has taken away all sweetness and made it acidic, great but almost a little too much.

Appearance: Glowing red; no head

Aroma: Very sour; sickly sweet

Taste: Very dry; sour; tart fruit; lingering fruit flavor

Remarks: Refreshing; not bad for a kriek, but still not my thing overall

Did not score A, T, S, M at that time; disregard those scores

Poured from a 75 cl bottle into a Cantillon chalice. Bottled May 2013.

Appearance: Poured a one-finger head. Quickly dissipates in thickness, though a thin layer of foam remains on top. Cloudy, red. Good carbonation.

Smell: Sour cherries are the predominate scent. Slight floral notes. Maybe a dash of vanilla.

Taste: Sour cherries carry over, as does the slight floral notes. No vanilla. A little grapefruit comes in towards the end. Slightly medicinal. Light, dry, crisp. Recalls the sourness of some dry white wines. Amazing when paired with food as you would pair white wine.

Mouthfeel: Light, dry, slightly carbonated, and a little foamy.

Overall: Cantillon has quickly become one of my favorite breweries. This is my second 75 cl bottle and it grows on my each time. The sourness will come as a surprise to people unfamiliar with lambics. I could sip on this all day. So I will.

2010 bottle

A - Bright cherry with light brown accents and a small white head

S - Sour bing cherries, lemon peel, lemon, lactic acid, and a slight blue cheese funk

T - Tartness is comes up as the lemon and lactic acid makes itself known. The cherry comes through next to give a slight, darker, almost bing cherry-like flavor. The finish has some of the funk that I picked up in the nose as well as light oak.

M - Tons of carbonation that makes this a zesty beer with a slight bite. Dry finish

O - Solid kriek with lots of tartness to it instead of being too sweet (this is one of my pet peeves with some of the beers in this still). It brings nice cherry flavor while still allowing the lambic tartness to shine through
