Vintage 2003. 750ml bottle, corked and capped. Bought at the London Drinkers 2005. Served cool in a large bulb wine glass.
A: poured a quite clear, dark golden body; the light puffy white foamy crown sustains well, then gradually wanes leaving a scarce rim on top of the lightly fizzy body.
S: salty+sweaty barn-yard mustiness and marinated star fruits mainly, with grapefruit-zests backing at the fringe where new oak barrels vanilla comes rather assertive as well; very deep and full of oakiness Neither quite exciting nor complex, but the aroma is really settled and pleasant.
T: really tannic and tangy-zesty, with a metallic touch upfront then salty fruitiness (showing hints of hawthorn-fruits) and grapefruit peels render a rather dryish palate in the aftertaste, where the tongue simply feels more and more tangy. Lots of aroma are left in the finishing touch, btw.
M&D: by Cantillons standard, this one is not sour or harsh at all; this is an ultra-smooth, fragrant, and mature gauze to savour. But I wonder how it has gained so much oaky influence even after so many years of aging in the bottle? Its my cup of tea anyway! Fellow BA Greencard once mentioned that this is his all-time favourite geuze; now I can understand why~~

A - Vibrant deep cherry red color with dense creamy, pink foam.
S - Intense, complex tart cherry twang on the nose.
T - Tart complex cherry from start to finish, nice lingering tart cherry.
M - Medium body with light carbonation.
O - I'm not a fan of Sours but this is fantastic and highly recommended.
