Notes:
They don't call it black gold for nothing. This full bodied oatmeal stout is smooth and creamy. Even if you don't consider yourself a dark beer drinker, be sure to ask for a taste. "Fuel for your next Alaskan adventure".

On tap at the pub, Pipeline Stout is mahogany brown with a light tan head, leaving a light smattering of lace. Just like their porter and schwartz, why are all their dark beers brown, not black?
Smell is caramel and cream soda - not their first beer I got the soda note from, but at least it works with a stout. Continued to improve as it warmed.
Taste is pretty good, a nice caramel sweetness, balanced by the roast. Satisfyingly full flavor with a long finish.
Mouthfeel is dry and crisp, with a medium body. Can't notice the oats though, which should really be shining here.
Drinkability is high. A very nice stout, satisfying and quaffable.

A good american stout. Dark black with thin and lumpy off white head. Settles into a ring with clumps. The nose is weak but has minor traces of smokiness or maybe espresso. Thick full bodied taste chewy with a creaminess that would rank high among american stouts. At first there are smoky malty flavors, but what impresses me is the lingering smooth aftertaste, which is hoppy and coffee with almost some dark fruit flavor. strange, but good. smooth creamy mouthfeel and decent drinkability. All in all a standard american micro stout, with a great lingering aftertaste.
