Notes:
Intriguing doses of sweet spices, cocoa nibs and pumpkin transform an exceptional porter into a mesmerizing potion. Pour this tantalizing brew into a snifter and experience its many eccentric nuances, which will delight your taste buds.
This is the same award-winning recipe that garnered a GOLD MEDAL at GABF in 2007. Formerly known simply as Imperial Chocolate Pumpkin Porter, we’ve named it T.R.E.A.T.: The Royal Eccentric Ale Treatment.

A - Not a whole lot here. Dark brown with a tiny head that fades in seconds. Not a very great looking porter.
S - Brown sugar, plum, chocolate, pumpkin, clove, cinnamon, and vanilla. Although that might sound amazing, to be honest, the combination is sort of bizarre. Pretty strong.
T - I don't get much pumpkin or chocolate. I get Coca-Cola up front, followed by some nuttiness and harsh roastiness in the finish. A nice beer though.
M - Very good. Not too thin, but just appropriate for the style.
D - This is a pretty drinkable beer, but it really is limited by its sweetness. I would drink it again for sure, but would never be able to finish an entire bomber on my own.

650ml bomber poured into tulip 11/5/13 another bottle from Rutager, cheers dude!!
A the darkest brown with a deep cola edge, two fingers of dark foam only lasts a couple sips and leaves no lace, looks pretty basic
S cinnamon, all-spice, cola, root beer, chocolate and a little smoke, faint licorice and yes some pumpkin and just a hint of booze, smells great, everything's working well together
T more chocolate and dark roasted notes that weren't as strong on the nose, a little coffee I didn't smell, and I like the flavor but the nose had just a little something extra
M silky liquid, not as thick as the color would imply but the bubbles cream it up and give it some body, spicy finish lingers for ages
O great use of pumpkin and spices in what I'd assume was already a solid base beer, very easy to drink and the booze is well hidden
I'd drink this again but perhaps better suited for a chilly Fall evening and a turkey dinner, mmm turkey, now I'm craving, wish me luck convincing my wife to make a practice turkey.

Poured from a bomber into a tulip glass.
A: Opaque, dark brown color with a fine peripheral ring of light beige bubbles. Scant lacing remains on the glass.
S: Pumpkin is earthy and vegetal in the smell, while roast is also apparent but subordinate. Spices are not obvious here.
T: Begins off-dry, with yeasty pumpkin and intense toastiness. The neutral yeast qualities increasingly stand apart from the fruit during the middle. Baking spices are muted but evident into the finish where earthy pumpkin-affected roast peaks.
M: Medium viscosity, slightly acidic on the palate, with moderate carbonation.
D/O: This pumpkin beer does a fair job of cutting the pure vegetal quality of the fruit with supple roasted malt. The porter approach is repeatedly shown to favor the addition of pumpkin, which is further reinforced here.
