Appearance-Pours a light amber/gold into the glass, a very, very beautiful color I should say. A fluffy white head rises and slowly recedes back down leaving some very sticky lace, a solid ring and a wisp of fluff on the top. Looks good.

Aroma-Crisp, typical hoppy nose accompanied by some biscuity light malts, more so than I typical find in IPAs/DIPAs but, fortunately, I'm rather a fan of the more balanced DIPAs.

Taste-Follows the nose, same crisp, piney hoppiness followed by some lightly sweet biscuit malt; straightforward and yummy.

Mouthfeel-Could be a bit more plush, a bit thin for my liking.

Drinkability-Sure, I could knock back a sixer of these; it's on the drinkable side for sure.

Beer is a translucent light golden straw color. Pours a large white head with with good retention and moderate lacing. Smell hits first with an incredible smell of pine. Also get grapefruit, orange, resin, and a bit of bread.

Taste starts with a ton of pine and some resin, followed by grapefruit, orange, and lemon. Has a piney, grapefruit, lemon, bready, slighty floral, crisp finish. Mouthfeel is definitely on the light side for a DIPA, with above average carbonation. Normally I would want a heavier body for a DIPA, but this lighter body helps keep the intense piney-ness from being overwhelming, also making it a surprising refreshing 8.2% beer.

Southern Tier's 2XIPA pours golden in color with little head and not much lacing. The smell is pleasing, the taste is fantastic and the mouthfeel is subtle but good. I enjoyed this beer, but it was pricey. I'd have again, but only at a more reasonable price.
