22oz bottle from 2011 poured into a snifter
A: Black water...as the bottle says. Thin dark tan head that dissipates to a pronounced ring around the glass. Very little lacing.
S: Semi-sweet chocolate. Actual chocolate...not the chocolate flavor you can derive from roasted dark malt. Also, grassy hops, some phenol alcohol and a little roasted malt.
T: Like a sledgehammer. Not overly complex. Tons of semi-sweet chocolate up front and then it gives way to a more traditional big double stout flavor in the finish. Way more roasted malt than the nose indicates. Quite bitter towards the end but I like it. Alcohol fairly well hidden.
M: Medium-to-heavy body. Silky smooth. Carbonation is average. Drinkability is moderate.
O: This is a beer that you have to be in the right mood for...but when you are in that mood it delivers big time. I don’t find it cloyingly sweet like some others...not by any means. It’s a dessert beer, but it’s also a big time roasty stout.

Picked up a 32oz growler of last years choklat. Pours a deep rich brown settles black in the glass with a reasonable light tab creamy head. Smells like chocolate heaven. Taste is spot on too. Deep rich decadent chocolate. Like eating a chocolate bar. The sweetness is nicely tamed back from the year of age. Easy drinker, dangerously drinkable with the abv totally hidden. Forgot how good this beer is.

Bomber into Stout glass 12/21/2012
Appearance- Jet Black small off white head
Aroma- Well as you might think, its a lot of chocolate. Really doesn't smell sweet though, its like unsweetend cacao. There are some roasty malts and a touch of coffee poking through as well
Taste-A lot of chocolate, I've had a few chocolate stouts before and this is by far the most chocolate. It doesn't seem artificial though, nice touch of roast on the end. sweet up front but bitterness comes in and finished keeping it pretty balanced. slight alcohol warmth.
Mouthfeel- Full, thick, creamy, a little low on the carbonation
Overall- I will admit I'm a little biased towards ST, but I liked this beer. Not something I could drink a lot of, but its the best chocolate stout I've had. Awesome for what it is, and you like chocolate it def worth a try.

Pours like thick chocolate syrup. It's rich and creamy. A sizeable head was produced to my surprise. Mocha brown dense and fluffy and stood it's ground well.
The aroma was of rich chocolates sweet and only the sutle hint of malts proved that it was an adult beverage.
Taste was fantastic and perfect with some kind of chocolate lava cake or somthing.
Rich chocolates and deep yet very sutle malts, some coffee and vanilla. Slight alcohol tingling as it crosses the palate.
A wonderful beer well made.
