Choklat is every bit a dessert beer, encompassing the complexity of the darkest, bittersweet candy together with that of the original frothy beverage. We combine the finest ingredients to tempt your senses & renew the power & interrelation of history in every bottle.
Cacao is a mystical bean. We're not surprises that ancient hieroglyphs depict chocolate being poured for rulers & gods.

Shared with Klym and SundaySour on July 28th. Review from notes.
Poured into Stone Nonic.
A: Black jellybean body with a very thin head formation from a conservative pour. Slightly off-white ring of foam around the rim. Body looks oily and thick. Midnight in a glass.
S: Really intense moon pie smell. An emulsion of roast marshmallows, moist grahams, and heavy handed sprinklings of chocolate. Alcohol makes its way into the mix with heavy suggestions of chocolate liqueurs. Chocolate syrups mix well with the chocolate liqueur. Moist chocolatey s'more smells throughout.
T: Creamy grainy chocolate shavings that mix with butterscotch. Chocolate syrup dowsed on moon pies. Chocolate marshmallows in chocolate sundae fudges. Crazy chocolate coffee lingers. Certainly long chocolate infused lingers, worth noting.
M: The mouth is a real back drop to the flavor. It's light enough to let chocolates dominate , but it's present enough to spark transitions into graham crackers and marshmallows. I suppose too much carbonation would inhibit the chocolate flavors. Though it exists on the fringe of flatness.
O: Good chocolate flavors, flavors that I've only ever had in whiskey barrel aged stouts before. Intense graham crackers and roast marshmallows. Definitely heavily suggestive of girl scout graham cookies and campfire roast desserts. A lot of nostalgic american smore flavors that takes me back to the world of pop tarts and camping. It's pretty good, but I can't help but associate these flavors with cheaply wrapped desserts you can buy at a gas station. Though the beer does an excellent job of capturing that american chocolate experience.

650 ml bottle, courtesy of Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 11.0%. Pitch black colour, moderate creamy tan head. Intense aroma of cocoa / chocolate. The flavour has also loads of chocolate and cocoa, but the sweetness is not too extreme. Also some roasted coffee notes. A moderate hoppy bitterness in the finish (Chinook and Willamette) balances some of the chocolate sweetness. Very drinkable for an 11% beer. I had no problem finishing the bottle - but if you hate chocolate, this is clearly not a beer for you.

I've had many opportunities to drink Choklat Oranj and really liked it. Had this one for a few years and thought a snowy Christmas would be a good time to drink it. Really hits the spot. I guess it could be a dessert beer but when its freezing outside and the snow is blowing it'll do. Looks like motor oil with very little head. Just like an imperial stout should. With my diminished sense of smell I get chocolate (imagine that) and malt. Can't decide if its milk chocolate, bittersweet or what but definitely chocolate. Taste is the star here. Chocolate of course but I don't think its too sweet. Nice clean finish I could drink it for dessert but it's fine in front of the fire in the dead of winter. Mouthfeel is almost perfect. Slightly thick, smooth as silk and just about right. Overall, a really good imperial stout. Unfortunately it doesn't seem to be available any longer but should it pop up again i'm definitely getting another bottle or two
