Split this with a friend. Bought this one having never seen or heard of it before, and solely bought on brand recognition alone.
Poured into a SA curved pint glass.
Pours a nice watery-pepsi color with a small, short-lived head that gives way to some nice bubbles and a short collar. quite possibly the lightest porter I've seen.
Smell is dominant in raspberry with a little caramel and some seasonal spice.
Taste is immediately raspberries, but everything else is watery and slips away before I can enjoy it. Little beat of grain in there. There's no roasted flavor, barely a hint of malty goodness, and no detection of hops. There is a slight chocolate flavor to it. but watered down.
Mouthfeel is watery and incredibly thin for a porter.
Drinkability- I am disappointed in this one. So far, I would consider this brewery to be a consistent home run hitter, but not on this one. If someone handed it to me and said it was a raspberry wheat, or an ale, I would have felt better about this, but it's no porter.
My score reflects the poor category placement of this beer. Sorry ST, but you missed the mark on this one.

Pouring a cellar temp bottle into a pint glass.
Pours a rich dark brown with some mahogany highlights on the edges of the glass. Minimal creamy beige head foams up and remains a thin surface layer.
Aroma is mild with raspberry and chocolate almost like a fruit filled candy, maybe the fruit paste kind not the gel.
First sip reveals a very light and thin body and tiny gentle rolling carbonation.
Flavor is similar to the nose, with a mild overall profile, but I get some roasted malt and dry baker's chocolate. These flavors roll to sweet raspberry notes. Finish is also a little dry.
Not a flawed brew but not overly interesting. It held up pretty well over time, but I wonder if it was a little more bold fresh?
