Pours a dark apricot/light copper color, almost like the appearance of actual pumpkin pie. A nice looking beer. A minimal head, though, less than a fingers worth. No lacing to speak of.

Smells great. Big pumpkin notes, allspice, cinnamon, nutmeg, and clove.

Initial taste is literally like liquid pumpkin pie. I've had several pumpkin beers, but the taste on this one gives the closest proximity to the actual taste of pumpkin pie. Really delicious. Initial taste is followed by a little sweet malt, and lots of spice, but not so much that it overwhelms the palate; Cinnamon, nutmeg, and clove. The finish is spicy, but also a touch bitter.

Mouthfeel is medium bodied, creamy, with low carbonation. Fitting for a beer of this type.

This was my first time having Pumking, and I was really impressed. It's really competing with DfH's Punkin and Weyerbacher's Imperial Pumpkin for first place in the pumpkin ale category for me. I'll definitely be seeking this one out again.
