Presentation: Poured into a pint glass from a growler purchased at Green's on Assembly in Columbia, SC. I've had this in the bottle before and wasn't completely impressed so I figured I'd give it a chance in a "fresher" form.

A: Pale yellow color with little to no head and minimal lacing.

S: Sweet raspberry scent, maltiness, and light wheat.

T&M: Nice raspberry taste that was sweet, but not overpowering. Tanginess throughout that is light bodied with minimal carbonation.

Decent drinker. Again, not the best fruit beer I've had, but good.

Very light gold with a snow-white thin and sticky layer of foam.

Fresh, ripe raspberry aroma with just a hint of wheat behind it. Not overpowering, but "just right".

Smooth, light body has an almost sourdough flavor to it, with mild raspberry as an afterthought. Not a massively fruit-laden beer, rather a good, easy drinker with a hint of berries. Good balance between sweet and dry as well. Low bitterness.

This would make a good "crossover" beer for macro drinkers... tasty yet light, and no blast of hops to scare them away.

High sessionability.

A: The beer is clear yellow in color and has a very slight amount of visible carbonation. It poured with a thin white head that quickly died down and left some lacing on the surface and a thin ring of bubbles around the edge of the glass.
S: There are light aromas of raspberries and wheat in the nose.
T: Like the smell, the taste has flavors of wheat along with notes of raspberry syrup.
M: It feels light-bodied on the palate and has a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This beer is dominated by flavors of pale wheat but the raspberry flavoring makes it a little more palatable to your taste buds. It isn't very refreshing.

A - Pours with a small head of white lace on top of a clear, golden body. The head settles quickly and leaves little lace.

S - Lots of juicy raspberry with tart wheat in the background.

T - Some light, earthy grain notes up front with a hint of raspberry juice. Some notes of berry seeds and herbal hops in the middle. Finishes with light wheat and a lingering fruit note.

M - Medium body, moderately high carbonation, and a balanced finish.

D - As fruited wheat beers go, this one is pretty decent. It has a fairly strong raspberry nose, but the fruit is balanced in the flavor and makes for a drinkable and balanced beer that is quite good for what it is.

Pours typical "beer yellow" with no head or lacing. The aroma is of raspberries with hints of cake and grass. The flavor leads off with raspberry with wheat and a mild hop presence. As it warms the mild bitterness fades and mildly tart raspberries show through. It's mouthfeel is smooth and light. Southern Tier Raspberry Wheat is a good beer, balanced between sweet and tart and very refreshing. Recommended.

A - Apple juice gold. Crystal clear. White head with low retention and lace.

S - Straight black cherry Jello.

T - Lively carbonated opening. Artificial raspberry Jello with a touch of light white bread and yeast. Lingering alpha bitter note on the backend.

M - Bright, medium-light body to style.

O - The artificial twang on the raspberry was hit or miss around the table as we reviewed this beer. I wasn't a huge fan.

I poured this beer into a pint glass, it has a nice gold color body with very little head that doesn't hang around long. The smell is of raspberry and not much else. The taste mostley raspbery with some wheat flavor. The mouth feel is nice and overall this is a ok beer, nothing outragous

Yellow-gold color with some soapy film at the top. Slushy lace. 3.0

Candied strawberry, tart raspberry, pilsner malts, and sugars. 3.0

Attenuated flavor with mild raspberry fruits, minty hops, melon rind, spice elements that are somewhat herbal, and weak wheat malts. Clean and refreshing after that sweet nose. 3.5

Light-bodied with medium carbonation. A little unbalanced. Also, extremely cold from the temp. No time to let this warm up. Just steal a few sips from the girlfriend, review, and move on. 3.0

What's with the overly sweet aromas; but clean, crisp fruity tastes in ok/decent fruit beers such as this? Can't they clean up the nose a bit? Or, is it a selling point? I dunno, this is a refreshing take on the style. I'll boost the score for how much it redeemed itself. 3.5

A: Transparent lightly golden yellow color with very minimal head, dissipates to patches and whisps of thin lace all around.

S: Very raspberry. Almost reminds me of a wine cooler. Very little wheat aroma, its almost all raspberry here.

T: Raspberry taste isn't as strong you would think by the smell. Getting some nice wheat and grain flavors here along with with very light malt flavor at the end. Little to no alcohol taste as well.

M: More then average carbonation provides a crisp clean flavor with a semi-dry aftertaste.

O: Not quite what I expected, and as it was refreshing, I can't see myself drinking more then 2 or 3 in a sitting.

4.9% ABV with a DOB of 8/1/11.

Appearance: Clear pale yellow color, some white head, no lacing

Smell: Raspberries, wheat, light malt

Taste: Raspberries are the main flavor, but they don't over power the brew. There is some decent wheat and light malt flavor. Not much in the way of hops. The raspberries give it a nice tart quality, so it isn't too sweet in spite of the low hop level.

Mouthfeel: Crisp, well carbonated, light body

Overall: Good, not great. I was happy with it even though it is disappointing compared to the big brews from Southern Tier. I was also pleasantly surprised to see a DOB on the bottle, which fixes one of my biggest problems with ST. Not bad, but I would recommend getting your raspberry fix elsewhere, I will next time I want some in my beer.

A- Bright gold with minimal head. Crystal clear
S- Not much raspberry in the smell, more of the drab American wheat ale smell.
T- Taste is a light refreshing raspberry flavor, just enough to cover the wheat taste but not to sweet and overpowering.
MO- Smooth and lightly carbonated. Good summer beer.

Appearance - See through golden color - kind of looks like pee to be honest.

Smell - Definetely a presence of raspberry, smells pretty good.

Taste - Quite disappointing. The smell would lead you to believe that it would be semi-flavorful at least, but this tastes more like watered down raspberry juice than a beer. It is almost as though you had a cup of raspberry juice with ice, drank it all, left the ice to melt a bit, then bottled what remains.

Mouthfeel - did I just drink a glass of slightly carbonated water?

Overall - I think they missed the mark here. Southern Tier is typically known for taking a flavor and producing a beer that replicated that flavor in a BIG way. This tastes like watered down nothing.

Do not recommend.

12oz bottle
Served in a pint glass

A - It pours pale yellow in color. It is topped with an inch of off white head.

S - It wreaks of raspberry.

T - It has tons of raspberry flavor. That's about it.

M - Moderate to thin

O - It tastes about like every other raspberry ale I have tried.

pours out an almost perfectly clear straw yellow colour with some big bubbles sprouting a marginal, and quickly receding head. filtered i see...and no lace. aroma of raspberries and that's about all...i get little pale malt and no wheat. the taste is of tart raspberries, but the bottom falls out after that. it has an unpleasant astrigency and little malt character to prop things up a bit. there is some bitterness present, but without any malt sweetness to balance it seems out of place. weak bodied. bleh mouthfeel. drinkability suffers because it just seems so stripped of any defineable characteristics.

overall i'm pretty disappointed. my first southern tier sampled is a dud. oh well...i know the next one up will be better.

Pours a pale copper with loose, thin head that fades quickly. The nose is purely raspberries; sweet and tart. The taste is pale malt with sweet but fainter than anticipated raspberries. The mouthfeel is light and moderately carbonated.

I was expecting something a little fuller-flavored and a little more tart. Unfortunately, this one didn't hit the mark for me, but it's from ST so it was worth a try.

Poured into a Dogfish signature snifter. No numbers or letters on the bottle or label to signify a freshness/bottled-on date at all.

A- Pours a straw color with a 1/4 inch white head that immediately vanishes and leaves a ring of bubbles and ripply foam in the middle of the surface. Pretty good lacing, considering the light nature of this beer.

S- Raspberries, strawberries...and not much else.

T- Typical artificial fruity flavor...and not much else. Not a lot of wheat, barely any hops, very little malt. Like drinking raspberry-flavored water.

M- Same as the rest: quite uninspired.

O- I've never had this little to say about a beer, good or bad. Everything else Southern Tier does is great. What a dud.

Pours a light, yellow-tan that’s clear with very little head. Looks like an average beer, nothing special about the appearance of this one. Smells like raspberry syrup. Tastes like artificial raspberry flavoring, not necessarily bad but not as good as some other fruit beers. The flavor fades quickly and it ends up being a little watery. Refreshing and a decent flavor, just doesn’t last very long and has very little mouthful flavor, all the raspberries are upfront and then end is more watery and flavorless. I realize this is supposed to be a “wheat beer”, but I’m not getting any wheat in here anywhere. Decent to drink but nothing special and there are better widely available fruit beers.

S-Lots of raspberries, it is some what artificial but not bad, a little wheat as well.

T-Over powering raspberries, no bitterness, there is some wheat but not much.

M-Light but not much carbonation.

O-A boring very fruity fruit beer. I would assume a great beer for gals, but I'll pass.

Poured from the bottle into a standard pint. Minimal head with bright orange golden color. Raspberry aroma with just a slight malt base. Not much hops on the nose. Taste was typical light wheat, once again not much hoppy bitterness. Sweet raspberry throughout. Definitely easy drinking and thirst quenching. Would be rated much higher with about half the sweetness (for me at least).

Definitely has a raspberry aroma to it...so much so that I'd say it smells a bit like a malt beverage. Quite sweet.

The taste isn't quite so robust. Oh, the body certainly is mostly of a raspberry taste, but it's thinner and more watery than I would have thought. There isn't much else in the way of character for this beer. The wheat shows up mildly on the finish. I've had fruit beers that do it right and end up being quite delicious, This one just isn't delivering that for me.

This is sort of a novelty type beer from a brewery that usually makes outstanding beers. A bit disappointing.

From notes, Enjoyed September 3 at Savannah Craft Brew Fest '11.
The "replacement" of the "missing" Oatmeal stout...hardly
L: Looks like a light lager, a little worried at first.

S: Dayummm...smells awesome. Raspberry cobler, sweet berries under slight wheat.

T: Light and crisp, even more similar to a light lager but with creeping raspberry taste.

M: Smooth, light bodied, not bad

O: A nice brew from a favored brewery, although (in my opinion) they should keep cranking out the dark beers.

A- The color of a normal light beer with a hint of orange color in it.

S- It has a stong wheat raspberry smell to it. I like the smell alot!

T-The taste is very good from start to finish. Its not something I want to drink more than 2 of though.

M- Had a decent head for a bottle which gave it pretty good feel once you drank it. It went down smooth as it could.

O- pretty amazing stuff, my fav by southern tier.

Clear light straw color with a small head that laces, the beer also displays active carbonation. Wonderfully sweet rasberry aroma very noticable. You can also catch honey and wheat in the aroma and maybe the slightest hops. In a blind smell test you would know this is a berry drink. Taste is light and crisp, like a lager and if your patient you can start to make out the berry flavor. There’s no hops to this but the taste is so light it doesn’t call for it. Its a suble fruit beer and in the end, it satisfies on a 90 degree day.

A - Pours a bright slightly hazy golden-orange color with a thin covering of white head. The head fades very quickly leaving behind very little lacing.

S - Aroma is full of sugary sweet raspberry smells. There is just a bit of wheat int he background, but the raspberry really dominates here.

T - Starts off with raspberry flavor and sugary-syrupy sweetness. There is just a touch of wheat in the background. Through the middle, the sugary flavors get even stronger. The finish is a mix of wheat and raspberry that lingers in a strange way.

M - Medium-light bodied with moderate carbonation. Feels a bit too watery and thin. The lingering flavors are kinda off and strange.

D - Pretty drinkable. There is not too much other to say than the raspberry flavor kinda takes over and it has that overly sugary-syrupy sweetness that is just a bit too much.

This beer has a brass color with hardly any head or lace. What little bit of head it did have disappeared quickly. It did leave some spread out lace. It has a mainly bean like aroma with a mild sour fruit following. The taste is has a strong bean, corn flavor with some hoppy bitterness with a berry aftertaste. The body is medium. I look at this beer as a slightly above average beer.
