Notes:
Our Belgian White Ale is brewed with wheat, a distinctive Belgian yeast, a touch of coriander and curacao orange peel. In true Belgian style, this unfiltered beer has a signature cloudy appearance with light and spicy citrus flavours - making it a strong favourite with the European fans.

The pour is a hazy golden straw body with a nearly non-existant white head. Some short lived lacing rings. the nose is citric with a nice sweet wheaty malt, mild Belgian spice and a hint of banana bread. The taste is sweet and wheaty in the middle with bready malts and a hint of clove and coriander. Notes of lemon rind and banana. The finish has a light hop. overall, a good tasty wit, but nothing special going on with this one.

Cloudy straw yellow appearance with bubbly head that slowly settles down leaving little lacing. Smell consists of citrus, some fruit, yeast and some grass. Fairly light though.
Taste is a dry citrus taste with a hint of orange, grass, yeast and spices. Picked up a faint hint of various fruit as well (apples, lime). It's light tasting, but has some good features and refreshing. Light bodied with moderate carbonation. Aftertaste is a lingering dry citrus taste.
Overall, sort of a standard Witbier, but has some distinguishing features and highly drinkable. Will be trying this out again in the summer.

Following instructions on the bottle, poured half then swirled the rest, resulting in a cloudy straw yellow liquid topped by a short white head.
Foam quickly faded leaving no real lacing. Very light aromas, grassy, some yeast, and citrus.
Has all the witbier characteristic tastes, orange peel and coriander, slightly peppery spice. Decent wheat malt sweetness. Finishes with some citrus flavor, a bit dry.
Mouthfeel is light to medium, fits the style. Decent carbonation keep it refreshing.
Overall, a nice example. Nothing outstanding, but very happy to enjoy this one.

Poured hard and generated only a slim head which fizzed off within half a minute. Body is orange, slightly hazed and has just a bit of slow rising carbonation.
Smell is a pretty nice lemon-lime citrus. Nothing complicated, but appealing enough.
Taste carries the same lemon-lime through the front half of the mouth, then some of the coriander joins in to finish it off. Satisfying in the flavour department, though not a star for the style.
Mouthfeel is pretty good, a little bit of a creamy body with subtle carbonation.
A reasonable representation of the style, which, by definition, is a drinkable one.

Another bomber that's been lying around for some time and I figured I should give it a try.
A - Pours a slightly hazy pale straw colour, thin layer of head which quickly dissipates leaving no real lacing. Some fine bubbled carbonation on the body.
S - Very light on the nose, but fruity Belgian yeast, cloves and citrus, followed by some grassy malts all make an appearance.
T - This one is quite unique with the orange and coriander coming through off the top, followed by a peppery bubble gum yeast on the finish. A little on the bitter side with some sour citrus flavours that linger on the tongue and a bit of a sour apple cider also coming through.
M - Surprisingly this one finishes a little on the dry side, which was a bit of a turnoff. Apart from that the carbonation on the tongue is nice, and it is relatively refreshing.
D - Overall a pretty tasty offering, but I wouldn't go out of my way to pick it up again. The bottle claims it to be refreshing, but I've definitely had some more refreshing Wit's than this one. The flavours are unique, but weren't all that memorable.

650ml bomber poured into pint glass sept3 2010
A golden yellow with loads of suspended particles being moved around by a few bubbles that feed a two finger head that has decent retention and leaves no lace
S not much a little citrus and tropical fruit
T a little better with a little spice on top of what I smell
M light and it has enough carbonation to give it a slightly creamy feel
D easy enough to drink and the last rays of summer sun help its cause
nothing to be ashamed of but not worth going out of your way for it either

This beer pours a hazy pale yellow colour, with two fingers of creamy white head, which leaves no trace of lace as it falls away fairly quickly. There is a bit of swirling black sediment. It smells of soft, wheat cereal, and some mild citrus and spice. The taste is cream of wheat, some orchard fruitiness, more on the sugary side of the citrus, and leafy, mildly grassy hops. The carbonation is quite sedate, the body medium weight, and slickly smooth. It finishes off-dry, the fruity malt softy playing us out...
One smooth wheat ale, I'll tell ya...wow, the wheat is so soft and creamy, and the citrus/spice component so down low, it went down with no muss or fuss whatsoever. Understated, yet lovely.

A - basically impenetrable cloudy golden orange, two fingers of soapy white head dissipated slowly to a light film, very light lacing
S - strong orange notes, grainy wheat and yeast notes, nice grassy hops, and a fruity pineapple sweetness
T - a mix or orange and grapefruit citrus, there is a classic yeast flavour, fresh cut grass lingers, along with orange zest
M - smooth and somewhat full yeast characteristic, leaves a zesty tangy feel that is slightly dry and refreshing on finish
D - i enjoy the regular fernie line, but in my opinion this should be a regular, a light Belgian that will not scare the masses but is enough to entice the beer advocate, very worthy

I like this beer as a Summer patio treat with a nice slice of lemon. It has good levels of carbonation , some citrus twang and a balanced finish. Not as good as Driftwoods but on par with Central City this is worth the purchase. Since the Huckleberry beer and this are summer seasonals it will be interesting what Fernie has in store for the Fall/ Winter

From a 650 ml brown bottle. Pours out a cloudy honey-hued colour, decent foamy white head with moderate retention.
There's a creamy sweetness to the nose, light wheat, a good dose of orange and coriander to round it out. Not overly refined, but still pleasant.
Once again the creamy sweetness wins out in the flavour, accompanied by light dustings or orange rind, coriander and some tart wheat. Not offensive, but a ways off from a serious Wit.
Silky smooth texture, medium-bodied, a good zip from the carbonation, it holds its own in this dep't.
It has its moments but could use some refinement to hold its own as a Wit. More presence in the flavour while keeping the mouthfeel the same and we'd have a nice Canadian contender here.

Swirl poured from a 650ml bottle into a glass mug. Big off white head which soon diminished to a thin layer which persisted to the end. A hazy apricot colour. Good lacing. Smells of bready citrus. Tastes of malty bread with a spicy citrus finish. A very slight bitter twist at the end. A nice round medium body. Drinkability was good.

Trackside got this and What the Huck in the 650ml Bombers.
Certainly not the palest wit i've sampled, but still a nice cloudy aprocot colour, bright white head whith some lacing.
Aroma is almost undectable. Picked up a wiff of peach, not much else.
Hint of spice inially. Buttery toasted malts tend to be the dominate flavour with hints of orange peel lurking in the background. Not much in the way of coriander spices as advertised on the label. Finisg is dry, yet refreshing.
Light, yet smooth, almost velvety mouthfeel.
A bland, yet drinkable attempt @ a Wit.
