12 oz. limited edition can for the summer season. I'm glad Mooshead is available in cans now -- the green bottles are skunked most of the time.

A: golden and almost see-through. Not too watery for a lager.

S: smells of malt and grains. No corny odor to speak of.

T: a nice, simple lager. No adjuncts -- or adJUNKts -- to speak of. Smooth and refreshing.

M: slightly thick and carbonated. Less watery than AALs.

I had this for the first time in Canada, on tap. I really enjoyed it, given the style. I wish it was available on tap at more bars. Also, I wish it was more widely available in cans.

This beer is my favorite by far. For only $8 for a 12 pk of bottles you can not go wrong. The taste is very crisp and refreshing. No skunky or bitter after taste and just all around, in my opinion, the best beer. I am sure many will not agree with me on this and i respect that. But this is just my opinion.

I really enjoy Moosehead from time to time. I prefer it the most when I see it on tap somewhere. I know it's just a typical lager but something about it makes me like it.

The beer poured out as a clear golden color with a thin fizzy head on it. There is no lacing on brew. The smell of grains a malts on the nose with the slight hop aroma in there. The taste of the beer is crisp and had a sharp hop character to it with some sweet grainy malts in there too. The mouthfeel is clean and Simple. Overall, like I said before, if I had to pick a lager to drink for the rest of my life this would probably be in the top 5.

Pale straw yellow colour with an airy white head that struggles and quickly fails to cling to the sides of the glass. Typical BMC lager smell, sweet and grainy, with a subtle hint of wet cardboard. Crisp and clean, but it's a struggle to point out actual flavours in the beer. Some sweet grainy malt with little to no hop flavour or bitterness. Thin body and highly carbed. Very easy drinking, it's no surprise this was one of my go-to's when I first became of age. Not all that pleasant but not offensive, it seems like a great option for my 19 year old self!

A very good lager for what it is. The appearance and smell are similar to any American/Canadian lager - nothing special. The taste is actually quite crisp and refreshing. Whether it be the winter or summer, I can always go back to this beer and be satisfied when finished. A simple beer from start to finish, but a delicious beer that hits the spot nonetheless.

A: It pours a light straw colour with a white head which dissipates rather quickly; nothing too special.

S: It has a strong malt smell, almost starts to smell like bread.

T: Tastes crisp; it has a strong malt (and grain?) flavour and leaves a slightly bitter after-taste.

M: The body is somewhat heavy, definitely not too light. Carbonation is about right for this type of lager.

O: This is definitely my favourite Canadian macro lager, it’s on par with others in appearance, smell, and mouthfeel but it has a much better, more distinctive taste.

Pours a golden-amber colour with a one-finger head that has surprisingly decent retention. After a few minutes, only a thin cap and some lacing remains. Many bubbles stream their way to the surface - reinforcements for the cap, fighting to keep it alive, and doing an admirable job. Smell is extremely faint; all I can detect are pale malts and maybe a bit of citrus.

Taste is mostly pale malts followed by a sharp and brief hop bitterness in the finish. Comparable to the smell, it is quick and kind of pleasant. This is pretty much the definition of a clean-tasting lager. That can be a good or bad thing - good if you are just consuming alcohol to reach the inevitable endpoint, but if you are looking for interesting beer it's not a great way to go. Watery mouthfeel and high carbonation.

Moosehead is nothing super-impressive, but it lacks corn or other adjunct flavors making it a step above your average macro; a true APL. It has no offensive qualities whatsoever, but there is nothing here that will bring beer geeks back besides its high drinkability and ubiquity (at least, in Canada). I had a housemate in college who swore by this stuff. He rarely drank, and probably not coincidentally was ridiculously intelligent. He went on to become a doctor, and thus now drinks daily. He could definitely have picked worse.

I really do enjoy drinking moosehead. I would do the whole "ASTMO" rating scale but I'm not drinking it right now, so i'll do this one from memory.

Its appearance is "average" golden look, filtered, and if you pour it right, decent head.
Smells slightly malty and oddly like that classic American beer you would find in a budweiser or budlight...albeit a Canadian beer.
Tastes great, with a decent after taste.
Ok lacing when poured into a tall glass like the one I poured it into.

Overall, I buy cases of this stuff, and for about $1/beer like it is here in Pennsylvania, I say its a fair price for the quality of beer you get.

First had: bottle from some friend's cooler

First beer I ever had. Good thing I kept trying.

Pours a clear straw color with a small, white head that fizzles out rather quickly. Not much in the smell other than skunk and some light malts. About the same in the taste: stale malts and lots of skunk. Fizzy and weak, light bodied, and none to drinkable. Please avoid.

A-Golden staw colored, slightly pale. Nothing spectacular somewhat reminiscent of apple juice.

S- Grains a tad malty sweetness with a touch of hops. A ever so slight green bottle skunk going on.

T- Straightforward, sharp hops. Nothing long lasting, but super clean. servicable but nothing to write home about.

M- Good body for a lighter beer. Heavy enough to be noticeable, but light enough to drink a lot of it.

D- That funny skunk scent puts me off only slightly, besides that would be decent on a warm day.

Poured from a 12 ounce bottle into mug

A: This beer is a crystal clear, light golden color with plenty of visible carbonation. There is a foamy white head which dissipates fairly quickly.

S: Smells very malty. Simple, clean, mild, somewhat sweet malt.

T: Again, mostly consists of a sharp malt flavor. There is more flavor than your typical adjunct lager, but it is still very light.

M: Fairly carbonated and very drinkable.

O: Nothing remarkable, but a good alternative to your standard macrobrew.

A fine white head on a well carbonated clear pale yellow. The head soon diminishes to a ring. Some lacing sticks around to the end.

A sharp malt smell. Malty taste. A mild but short sharp hop finish.

Light, refreshing, well carbonated. A pretty good offering from a major

S-Nothing great. A little stinky? Kindof a weird, sulphuric type of smell.

I am not one for American (Canadien) golden lagers but this one is worthwhile.

A - golden, light amber; clear. Slightly rocky one-finger head that leaves a good bit of top foam.

S - lagery aroma. Pale malt. Clean

T - very crisp and fresh. Pale malt taste with well-balanced bitterness for an amber lager. Nothing over powering or extra special.

M - pleasant and drinkable. Refreshing when cold. Good summer and hot-time beer; worthy of being a house staple or for making radler.

Appearance: Better than your average lager. Nice carbonation and good lacing. Foam is average. Typical yellow for this style.

Smell: Nice bready smell. A hint of hops in the background.

Taste/Mouthfeel: Pretty clean taste. Bready malt and some bitterness in the finish. Mouthfeel is water though.

Drinkability: Definitely a clean beer. What Coors Light proclaims to be.

Overall: Definitely an enjoyable beer. Better than Labatt, not quite as good as Molson.

A: Straw yellow with 2 fingers of thick head that had good retention. Some patches of lace

S: Sweet grains & faint hops

T: Some slight biscuit...some tart....atouch of skunkiness.

M: Thin body...well carbonated.

O: Average drinking if you get one that is not too badly skunked. Always a crap shoot with this beer, it seems.

A- Pour is a pale straw color, minimal head and just a small trace of lacing.

S- Not bad for a macro lager actually, lots of sweet grain and floral grassy hops. I'm surprised!

T- Sweet cereal grains and mild hops, turns a tad skunky towards the end. Hops lingering.

M- This goes down alright, a fuller feel for this style. Carbonation really smoothes this out.

D- A much better option to BMC, I'll pick it up again to have some on stand by for a barbecue or when company comes over.

Had this on tap and in a can as well. I prefer to drink beer out of the bottle but this was good either ways.

A good beer to have in the fridge. Not expensive and all the guests seem to like it.

Good clean taste and very refreshing. Making this my common beer.

12 oz. Green Bottle

A: Pours a clear yellow straw color with good carbonation. Thin white head with thin lacing around glass.

S: Crisp lager with a little sweetness.

T/M: Crisp, smooth, and sharp carbonation. Taste is clean with malt sweetness and a little hop bite. The finish is very clean but with a faint funky taste.

D: Better than I expected. Clean and crisp. You can't go wrong with this cheap lager.

A - Pale yellow lager.

S - Not the best of smells. Kinda skunky.

T&M - Crisp, Citrusy, Light hops, Grainy.

D - One of the better 12-pack lagers at the markets.

I hate to see bad reviews for this. Its obviously better than Stella Artois. So the smell aint' the best, you're drinking a lager, not much characteristics in them despite what people say. This and Molson taste way better than what most people by for the fridge or a gathering. Personally I like ales for session, but i have no problem making this a go-to lager. Give it a try, you won't be sorry.

I thoroughly enjoyed this beer. I regularly buy the twelve packs because they are cheap and sometimes they have collectible bottle openers. This beer is your standard light and very drinkable beer. It is overcarbonated and doesn't have a whole lot of taste. It is extremely refreshing and crisp.

From notes: Pours a light straw color, high carbonation, small white head that goes to nothing but a ring....slight grassy hop smells mingled with sweet boiled grains....sharp start, medium-light body with a clean balanced finish. Better balanced in malt sweetness and hop astringency than most commercial lagers....but still average.

Appearance: : It has a yellow/clear colour to it. It has a nice white head that dies down quickly and lacing is present.

Smell: The aromas give out hints of corn and grainy malts with very small hints of hops.

Taste: Like the aromas, it has a corn and grainy malt taste to it. I couldn't really find the hops.

Mouthfeel: It has a medium carbonation with a nice sweetness.

Drinkability: It's a very smooth drinkable beer accompanied with bland flavours and aromas. It's definitly a good summer beer.
