Moosehead has a phenomenal taste. Easily the best beer I've ever had. It has a very pleasing feel in your mouth and is good year round. The price is decent too. I have found it for around $11.99 for a 12 pack. If you don't like this beer then something is wrong with you.

Served from a 341ml bottle
A: Generic pale lager color. One finger head soapy and sudsy looking.
S: Skunk. That is literally all. So potent you can smell someone opening it from 5 feet away.
T: Skunk and grain. Bitterness is low .Not completely awful but its up there. Still drinkable but not really enjoyable.
M: Crisp and refreshing on the way down. At least its got that going for it.
O: I really can't understand how this beer consistently gets decent ratings. Every single one I've ever had from a bottle has been skunky. I cannot understand green bottles. I've had it on draft and its decent then but green bottles no thank you.

A- Clear yellow beer. Constant bubbles and a white head with small foam cap.
A- Light sweet malt smell. Plain and lacking.
T- Light sweet malt flavor, very light bitterness throughout has a creamy vanilla/phenolic aftertaste. When moderately warm the bitterness is somewhat unpleasant.
M- Light body, moderate carbonation. Somewhat watery.
D- For what it is, not bad. That said it is on the lacking side of taste and aroma.

Moosehead - another Canuck beer that wasn't to inspiring.
Out of the bottle the beer was your normal, everyday looking beer. It puts w thing but white and foamy head with no staying power. Smell was typical as well. Highly car instead with a watery taste not exactly what I was expecting. Overall, I scored it a little above average because of the distinct hint of sweetness to the beer. Not sure what it was but I liked it.

Served in a bottle at Village Pourhouse in Hoboken, NJ
A: Pours a crystal clear pale golden yellow in color with some golden yellow highlights and light to moderate amounts of visible carbonation. The beer has a half finger tall fizzy white head that quickly reduces to a thin film covering a little over half the surface of the beer and a thin ring at the edges of the glass. Minimal amounts of lacing are observed.
S: Upfront there is a light to moderate amount of skunk aroma (likely due to the green glass bottle) but after that dissipates there is a light amount of sweet malts with a touch of grain and just a hint of floral and grassy hops.
T: The beer is light to moderately sweet with flavors of malts and a touch of grain adjuncts. There are some very light flavors of grassy and floral hops. Light amounts of bitterness that linger into the finish, along with the overall sweetness.
M: Just heavier than light bodied with a little more than moderate amounts of carbonation. Light amounts of crispness.
O: Probably one of the better examples of the AAL style with slightly more flavor than I expected (and not quite as thin or watery as most). I remember as a child thinking that Moosehead was some kind of fancy import beer - man times have changed.

Poured this one into a mug, pours a bright golden color with a decent size fizzy white head that reduces to skim the top, carbonation bubbles shoot up from the bottom of the glass.
Smell provides a bit if skunk, as expected from a green bottle. But beyond that I pick up some sweet malt with some grain, some herbal tea, and maybe even some floral hop.
T- very light and clean on the palate, some grainy malt up front, a bit if sweetness mid-palate, and finishes dry and light with just a trace of hop.
M- body is light, with spritzy yet moderate carbonation, mouthfeel is slick and just a bit foamy.
O- this isn't my style, but its one if the better ones that I've had. It's very clean and there's not much too it. But the taste isn't off-puting like many others of the style.

clean yellow pour, lots of visible carbonation, half a finger of head. smells bread, lots of yeast, sweet malt. damn this is almost flavorless. very subtle hint of sweet grain bill. no hops.. nothing really. ugh. light-medium in body, moderate carbonation.
this is a pretty lousy beer. don't know if it's cheap, but tastes like it should be around $3 a 6pk.

Half finger of head. Lot of bubbles visible in the clear, golden body.
Smell is a little honey and grain. Faint overall.
A great taste. Sweet and bitter mix well. Good bitterness to finish.
Crisp texture, moderate carbonation.
A pretty good lager. A definite "go-to."

I'm reviewing that blonde lager beer at the highest rate possible because it doesn't deserve to be under the bar of 80%. This is a top quality beer that looks like a cheap one. No matter hows the taste I could describe, there's nothing really astonishing in the bottom of that green bottle but, it is a great fuckin tasting blonde beer! Seriously, it is a lager blonde light beverage which is very refreshing no matter I you're in a high heat kinda place or even in the coldest icy lands lik here in Canada. I really think you should reconsider that lager a good tasting beer in its category and regardless of its look, it deserve a noble respect.
Cheers!

A - Pours a standard see through yellow with a frothy three finger head. Leaves very small amounts of lacing.
S - Skunk, rice, adjunct and corn adjunct.
T - Creamed corn, slight rice adjunct, seltzer water, corn flakes. Actually not terrible for a cheap beer.
M - Light body with heavy carbonation. No new flavors
O - Overall, a step above your average run of the mill mass produced beer. I actually like this more than any cheap beer that I have ever had. I would definitely get this again for a party

This is the best beer to drink any time of the year. It is a true go-to for any occasion. Great for the cottage or even when you're skiing. It is a very drinkable and refreshing lager. It has a great mix of hops and malts to provide a drinkable and tasty beverage. It is the true Canadian beer, owned and brewed by Canadians. And Canadians have been enjoying it since confederation.

One of my favorite 'cheap' lagers to swill / session without breaking the bank and without an annoying wall of hop bitter-ness common in so many contemporary micros/craft-brews.
Apparently one of the last family-owned Canadian breweries . Hope they won't sell out anytime soon .
Puts its American counter-parts to shame for price / value / taste .
I pour 2 at a time into a big tumbler. I sprinkle a little sea-salt in for a bit of zest (and less trips to the toilet ...)

My favorite!
5% ABV highly refreshing golden lager.
It offers a fine balance between malt sweetness and hop bitterness.
Brewed longer with age-old yeast culture, it imparts a delicious and unique flavor.
Because of the green bottle, it is very sensitive to light so in order to avoid it being light struck, protect it from light as much as possible. I enjoy it with a slice of lime as well.

The green bottle certainly distinguishes this iconic Canadian brand apart from it's competition. Best served chilled- resulting in a crisp lager taste with a nice, soft clean finish. Great summer time beer, particularly when grilling lighter cuisine. Highly drinkable!

Have been enjoying Moosehead for years. Very happy when it came out in a Light version. I find it flavorful, no after taste and it smells good. Make sure it is REALLY cold. Goes great with everything especially steak. Mix it with Clamato juice 50/50 fry up some hashbrowns, eggs and steak or ham and you have an awesome saturday morning breakfast.

Pours crystal clear yellow like apple juice with bubbles racing up the middle and a 2 finger snow white head that fades quickly and leaves a foamy layer on top and decent spotty lacing.
Smell is very basic, with grains, sweet malt, light floral hops, husk like vegetables or lettuce and some musk like yeast or an old shoe; pretty spot on for an old school classic lager.
Taste is pretty basic and again in line with the old school classic lager profile, with grains, malt, light floral hops, husk, a slight funk like yeast, and a clean earthy and malty finish.
Mouthfeel is very light, clean, refreshing and crisp, with light fizzy carbonation, a watery feel and an overall good session beer that’s just impossible not to drink fast.
I bought a 12 pack for a party I was hosting, hoping my friends would be as nostalgic as I was and enjoy pounding these beers and thinking about when we first had them in the mid-80’s; they were a hit and most were downed except this one used for the review. The taste is always average, but it’s a solid beer and a classic lager that is always enjoyable.

A - Golden wheat in color. Carbonation looks high. The head is white with minimal retention. No lacing on this on.
S - Skunk up front. Getting faint hops but mostly a corn like sweetness.
T - The skunk is gone. There is a nice crisp grain flavor that aint half bad. It sorta defines the whole taste and finishes clean.
M - Clean, semi dry, refreshing carbonation. Not bad.
O - Aside from the skunky nose this beer isn't too bad. Ive had worse in the style. I wouldn't recommend it but you could do worse.

My first time tasting this beer was a couple weeks ago. Before then i never even heard of it. My brother and I decided to get a random 12 pack. We went to the store and seen moosehead and decided what the heck will try it.
I thought the beer would be kinda harsh. Actually this is one of my favorites now. It really is a refreshing lager. Be perfect for the summer doing yard work. Overall a real good beer.

One of my all-time favorites. You would expect to be overwhelmed by the smell, but the first drink is just as refreshing as the last. a mid-yellow in color, this beer has a strong scent of hops but the taste is not that strong. You expect it to be somewhat harsh, but this beer is so smoothe that there is no harshness found. Very balanced in elements, I wouldn't classify this as sweet or dry, bitter or bland, this beer is just downright smoothe. Best just sitting on the couch and relaxing.

Appearance - Pours a clear golden color with a thin white head that dissipates quickly. Has some nice, creamy lacing.
Smell - Very skunky. When first opening the bottle the skunk filled the room. Behind that strong aroma I think I can smell some pale malts and corn. It's pretty hard to tell..
Taste - It's quite sweet.. Has the skunkiness, corn, buttery bread, and light hops.
Mouthfeel - Light body and mild carbonation.
Overall - Moosehead Lager is very drinkable.

Poured from a 12 oz green bottle into my 32oz mug, "coded" freshness date
a: pours a clear golden, with about a 2 inch white head which quickly receded with some lacing down the glass 3/5
s: can't pick up too much here, some skunkiness and some malty sweetness, albeit very faint 3/5
t: first taste to me is corn, then the sweet malt, followed by a very mild hop presence, but it all mixes into the overall flavor and is gone with a swallow with nothing really lingering 3/5
m: very very crisp and smooth, perfect carbonation makes this go down very easy, it's just very very light 3/5
o: this is my first experience with Moosehead and I am not disappointed because it's great for what I got it for -- sipping while doing some yardwork in the 85 degree Alabama spring. This is a very good, albeit somewhat light, lager. 3/5

A - pours a pale straw colour, finger of head which quickly recedes leaving no lacing
S - grassy notes, sweet corn, biscuit and toasted bread
T - sweet corn, buttered bread, grassy hop notes, biscuit and toasted saltines
M - medium, smooth and wet
O - classic lager flavours, though still rather mild, nothing spectacular, but easily drinkable

A clean clear looking beer. Can have a skunky odour but this seems to be common with beer in green colour bottles. It is the type of beer that tastes better the colder it is and the warmer you are. No lingering tastes.
Overall this is a clean beer that is not filling with some taste.

Appearance - pours a decent straw/golden. A snow white finger of fizz, fading but slowly due to quite a feed of bubbles from below. Lots of Swiss cheese lacing on the glass as this one goes down.
Aroma - an initial blast of skunk on opening and pouring. After some setup, some malt comes through but the skunk hangs around as well.
Taste - much better than I feared. A decent malt base, no skunk. Grain, some husk. A light bite of lemon, some balancing hops. Clean finish, a small alcohol edge. Fairly tasty and dynamic for the style.
Mouthfeel - very crisp, thinnish, tis the pale lager way.
Drinkability - a pleasant surprise, though it'd be way more sessionable out of a can.

Moosehead lager is my favorite canadian beer and one of my top lager choices. I consider it to be an adjunct since I believe corn is used in the recipe but not sure. Moosehead's bottling means 6 packs are prone to skunkiness, therefore stick with 12 packs. It is brewed only 150 miles away so it always seems fresh and enjoyable here. Appearance is golden with limited head that fades away. The smell is hoppy with floral overtones, some malt/grain. The taste has a very nice blend of distinct hop bite and crisp lager flavor. Mouthfeel is crisp and refreshing, very drinkable. Mooshead seems to be the only canadian brewer that still tastes like I remember from 20 years ago.
