This beer got my attention at my work, Wines Unlimited of Stratford, CT. We have a pretty good beer selection, especially of Eastern European Beers. This one, Lech seemed curious to me, being a Polish beer, it aroused my curiosity, because I have had some decent Polish beers the last few weeks. This beer is amazingly drinkable, but lacks a nice head, and lacing. The head is a egg foam like appearance which is nothing to scream about. The beer is colored with a pale golden hue with transparent waterline edges. Also, while it maybe very versatile, it tastes of a watered down lager, similar to a crappy Pilsner, (not that I hate Pilsners of course) but a little better. However, it still sells very well in our store, for probably two reasons, one being that it is a Polish Beer, and that our Polish clientele will naturally go for it, and two being that most Americans prefer light lagers, or Pilsners anyway, so when they experiment on a unknown beer they obviously get something they think they would like. Overall, this beer was ok, not great, very drinkable, and makes a good addition to any beer selection.

Revieiwing again as whenever I drink this, I totally change my opinion about it. Maybe this is because every can or bottle is slightly different. Or maybe it's just me. I prefer this over their pilsner, which for some reason, is significantly sweeter in the same way that Tyskie's is, not sure why.

Rather commercial and boring 5% strength. Lech don't have the courage of a Zubr. Rather boring can design. Quite pale colour but looks pretty good in in my wine glass. Light pilsner style aroma, kind of German and mystical.

Fairly simple flavour and mouth feel. Tongue sensations are simple also. I detect honey, dates, prunes. Malt is fairly light. It reminds me of a German pilsner but with less complex flavours and a more simple mouth feel. Yet I do like the punchy bitter honey bitterness.

In terms of commercial Polish pilsners or "premium" beers, I would put this in 3rd place behind Namylow Pils (1st) and Perla Export in 2nd. I do love the hops, but the honey sweetness is a little over-powering. And it is a bit flat and totally lacks after taste and mouth feel. They should create a "Lech Premium: Extra Hops" version as they already created a pilsner version which was sweeter and worse, so I think they shouldn't try to do that again.

This is a strange beer for me because the hops are amazing, they are just too flat and there needs to be more of them. Every time I drink it I change my opinion about how good it is. It's great value though for sure.

Alright NOW it starts making sense what an European Lager is, quite ironically after 20 odd years. Well, the thing is that I have been avoiding them for over a decade or more but anyhow, the kind of impression I had of them before just fell into place.
European lagers are different from German and Czech lagers. They have a distinct aroma and flavor that are not all that pleasant all the time - on the contrary, they are infamously sickening sometimes. Usually brewed in countries where beer does not have such a tradition like in Germany, Austria, Czech and Slovak republics - it helps to narrow it down to the rest of the countries but I would say it is mainly an Eastern-European thing.
I immediately knew when sniffing into this that what I am dealing with was an European Lager. Luckily though, it didn’t taste that foul and it felt quite okay. It was on the bitter side but wasn’t overcarbonated and hopefully had no corn or anything added because it tasted acceptable.
It was surprisingly okay and I give it an overall number 4 because I expected much worse. Better than Zywiec, if it makes any sense.

Drunk at Adega Sports Bar in Poznan (Poland) while watching Athletic Club Bilbao vs. Cádiz.

-As usual in Polish beers, almost no foam.
-Rye bread smell.
-Taste is pretty regular Pilsener.
-Doesn't leave a lot of aftertaste.

Regular brew. Nothing out of the chárter.

"Best by 10/21/22"; drank 5/8/22 @ the Yarchives.

See-through pale yellow appearance.

A rough pour yielded a big off-white head; strong, frothy lace.

Cracked wheat, some skunky funk & mild corn notes in the nose.

Medium mouthfeel.

Dry corn, skunky funk & cracked wheat flavors.

Crisp, but a bit off-putting.

500ml can into a pint glass. Best by 1/28/22, so plenty fresh.

Decent look. Clear pale golden yellow body. Small white head shrinks to a thin ring, no lacing.

Faint sweet malty aroma.

On tasting, pretty lightweight, though can just about detect both a malt and hop presence.

Mouth between light and medium, finish quite dry with a bit of an aftertaste.

Overall, seems like a mid range euro pale lager. Not terrible, but not a whole lot going for it either

L: Transparent pale yellow, some bubbles and a thin foamy head.
S: Somewhat skunky grainy and a bit grassy, slightly yeasty and alcoholic
T: Pretty flat and boring, the taste is also very short lived. Mostly just weak grainy lagery hops with some weak doughy malt and a slight sweetness. It's not very corny or bitter which is good
S: Smooth, medium bodied and a bit frothy, little carbonation. a bit of a dry finish
O: Inoffensive but very boring dull taste and feel. There are better cheap beers out there, I would not buy it again.

500 ml bottle, in Krakow. Golden colour, low head. Moderate sweetish aroma. Average pilsener flavour, not very exciting. But not bad either, probably better on tap.
